Run down and dirty. That's the state of the rooms. The carpets in the hallways and rooms look like they've never been shampooed. What once was cream colored carpet is now soiled black and terribly stained. A plus, there were no bed bugs.

I enjoyed the location, didn't have the traffic of the main strip while it's only 2 miles away from the main actions. Here is the break down

I can't deny that The Orleans Hotel had a great atmosphere and a good location just off the strip, but they need to improve on keeping the rooms clean. I was with family in multiple rooms. My room was not too bad. It needed to...More

Sorry for being a little late in response. I think you can get a non-smoking room without it being classed as Premium or Deluxe. But, some casinos refer to their lowest class room as deluxe just as a marketing tool. And, I did see several kids while there. Nevada gaming rules apparently prevent hanging out near the gaming areas with kids but there are routes to the various food and lodging areas, so shouldn't be a problem. If you're unfamiliar with Vegas, just remember that getting to the Strip, downtown, or other casinos requires the use of the shuttle bus, taxis, or regular bus routes. If the kids are pre-teen or teen, they may prefer being closer to the Strip or Circus Circus but I don't know what activities are available for kids at the Orleans. Suggest you contact them.
