We wanted to avoid Las Vegas and ended up in Tonopah, and considered it a real find. This carefully restored old hotel, the tallest building in all of Nevada when it was first opened in 1910, gives you a real sense of what it was like there at the time of the silver rush. The walk-in strong room is now...

My husband I drove cross country to get home to California and stopped at the Mizpah. It was a wonderful experience. The hotel is restored beautifully, the service was meticulous and friendly. Our room was very comfortable. Enjoyed the bar and restaurant. We will be back.

We plan our trip south and back north to include a night at the Mizpah hotel. It is a wonderful piece of history in this old mining town. The Cline family has lovingly restored it to its old grandeur, beautifully decorated. The staff is friendly and gracious. The nightly rate is very reasonable. Thank you to the owners who have...

Our stay was brief but the hotel, service, amenities, etc, were great. This is an old hotel that has been restored beautifully. We were greeted by one of the owners at the front desk, who was friendly and welcoming. Our room was quite nice, and the decor fun and comfortable. If we ever pass through Tonopah again this is where...

We stayed in a junior suite on the third floor. Best bed in years. We came for the Christmas party with music from Peavine Pickers. The Mizpah is the central meeting place for the surrounding rural area. Fun to socialize with people from all over the world who work at the mines, solar plant and test site. Great staff and...

Pulling into Tonopah would lead you to have low expectations for this property, but once you walk inside you will be amazed. It is like you stepped back 100+ years in time and everything is glitz and glam. From the red velvet to the old bank vault the details are all here. This was one of the most fun hotels...

We had been driving a long time between Vegas and Reno and it was time to stop. We came around the corner and saw this old historic building with beautiful etched glass windows with warm and colourful light radiating through. I just knew we had to stop. Thankfully they had a vacancy and allowed pets for a nominal fee. This...

Tonopah is an old mining town in Nevada. It is pretty desolate. The Mizpah is an oasis in the desert. This historic hotel was built in 1907 and restored in 2011. Comfortable and quiet rooms. A full bar and nice coffee shop. Bathrooms have claw tubs. The water pressure was not the best when taking a shower. This can be...

We had to unload our own suitcases from the parking lot conveniently located on the side. The parking lot looks out on the entrance of the intriguing dry and colorless silver mine museum. It took all four of us to get the brass cart laden with luggage up the steep handicap ramp, but we kind of had fun! We were...

Rising out of the middle of the Nevada desert is a castle of good food , fine drinks and very comfortable accommodations - topped off by pleasant staff, the availability of Blue Moon and Royston( the source of Tiffany's Blue) turquoise - and a pleasurable soupcon of the big and brawny early history that shaped Nevada.
