The Maria Atwood is a great location in central New Hampshire to explore the Lakes Region, Sunapee Lake area and picturesque Lincoln, NH without having to move. There is summer theater in New London and multiple covered bridges nearby to the west, the sights of the White Mountain area of Lincoln 50 minutes to the north, and Lake Winnipesaukee and...

Thank you for your great review. It is truly appreciated. Often people think that Franklin is out of the way when truly - as you say - it is right in the center of the state and easily accessible to all the fun places and things NH has to offer. It was a privilege to host your visit to our...

Sandi and Fred were great hosts. Super clean room, great breakfast, good location. They made you feel at home right away and catered to my gluten free diet. Would highly recommend if you are competing in ironman timberman race or want to stay in lakes region.

Guests affiliated with the Timberman always seem to be special people who are fun to visit with. You were right up there in the ratings and we thank you for choosing our Inn to be your base of operations. We hope for the pleasure of seeing you for the next race (or sooner of course)! Best regards, Sandi & Fred

I couldn't ask for a better B&B. The proprietors were the sweetest folks. Breakfast was amazing! The muffins were the best! Clean, large rooms, and comfortable beds. Beautiful setting. Highly recommended!

Thank you for the terrific review! It is great to know someone likes Sandi's muffins more than her scones. A little variety is nice. Fred

This charming B&B was the perfect stop for me on my way across the width of New Hampshire. I'm not sure what activities are close to it, but if you are traveling across the state or want a centrally-located base to travel from, it's a great choice. From there, I went to the Canterbury Shaker Village, which was an easy...

Thank you for your kind recommendation. You were the first "Woofer" we have had as a guest and it was a very enjoyable visit. You enlightened us all and we had fun in the process. Best wishes for your next "project". Shaker Village is a wonderful place to explore - actually only 25 minutes away as long as it is...

I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else when I'm in NH! Aside from the very nourishing breakfasts, including Sandi's awesome scones and Fred's wonderful fruit concoctions, I always feel at home there and am usually reluctant to leave and head back to the 'real world.' Sandi and Fred are not just hosts of a B&B, they have become dear friends.

Thank you for your review. We love it when guests become regular visitors such that they actually do become friends. We always look forward to re-establishing the things that have happened in everyone's life during the time between visits. May we continue our pleasant contacts for the years to come. Best wishes, Sandi & Fred

This B&B is superb. The rooms are spacious yet cozy. Very beautifully decorated. Hosts Sandy and Fred are so friendly after breakfast and few hours conversation it felt like their family. Scones and cookies are homemade by Sandy and so delicious my boys couldn't have enough. We asked for place to buy some local maple syrup but weren't able to...

What a wonderful B&B. From the minute we walked in, we were welcomed by Sandi and made to feel at home. We slept in missed our breakfast call but Sandi was more than accommodating and saved us breakfast, so we did not leave hungry. Wonderful experience, would stay again!

Absolutely love this b&b and Fred and Sandy the owners made me feel so at home. Make sure you try the scones and homemade breakfast items. Every single room is furnished in colonial furniture. There is do much history in the b&b.

This Inn was great! Sandi and Fred are wonderful hosts. I would recommend this place to any friends and family. Breakfast and the scones (they really do live up to the reviews) were really good, they even cater to making gluten-free scones for us. Which was a great treat!

I loved this place. I was looking for a relaxing night away and the inn was perfect. Sandi and Fred were so nice and welcoming. When I arrived, Sandi asked what I wanted for breakfast and I asked for those scones I heard about from the reviews and she was so happy to make them, and they lived up to...
