This used to be our favorite place to go to in Hampton Beach and we always had a ground floor room. They do offer a renovated room at a higher price, but it seemed very similar to what we had in the past, just painted the walls... The room we got was 34A, the carpet was so dirty, we could see big black circles caused by water damage, and the padding was all bunched up under the carpet, we even tripped on it. Lying in bed, (at leat the bed was clean, we made sure of that);we could see black dust particles on the ceiling. There were no room darkening curtains, not a single window that we could open... They do not offer housecleaning during the stay, no coffee maker in the room, nothing other than wifi and a tv. We slept there 3 nights as everything was full everywhere. This is our Last time there ever!

Room34A - Carpet is super dirty and lumpy, the padding is all bunched up in one place, we even tripped on it, needs to be replaced . Double bed instead of the advertised Queen Bed. Black dust bunnies on the ceiling. Not one single window opens, nothing in the room but a TV and AC for amenities, no phone, no coffee maker, freezer in small fridge needs to be thawed out.. Nothing positive about the place, man at the check in has no attitude, not one smile ever… No housecleaning during your stay..

The room was great and they even had a keurig and microwave in the lobby to use. The room had a mini fridge which was a great addition. The pool was good Andy grandson loved going in it. I would recommend it to my friends and family. The power outage was beyond their control, the people were very nice and accommodating and a special shout out to Amber and Ralph. Thanks guys

While visiting the sand sculptures we stayed at this Motel. I never leave many bad reviews, but was very disappointed in our stay. Check in was fast, but no information was giving to me on anything near by, on check out time or any paperwork. The girl at the window seemed very young. Got to room, went to beach and when we came back, we noticed a sheet stain on one of the beds. Too late to contact anyone, First thing in the morning went to office and asked for clean sheets. They had it fixed by the time we got back to the room, but they had left our room door open with all our belongings in there. There was no hot water, Just luke warm. Drains were clogged and drained very slowly. The Tub had green streaks of something in it. Looks like it was sprayed with something and never wiped. The headboard had fallen off the wall before we got there, and it was left that way. The bathroom window always had a breeze coming in. One night very cold. Had to keep the door closed. Also had a barking Dog in the building behind us. Wore brand new white pair of socks to bed & just walking back & fourth from bed to bathroom, they were black. Ended up throwing them away. The full size AC was nice to have one night, but so loud. Along with a full size fridge that ran loudly all day/night. No phone to contact front desk in room. No hair dryer in room. Coffee is available at front office. Did have a pool. The ceiling was patched in several places. This place was pretty dated. We ended up with a party of 8 or more in the next room, having a BBQ & party in the parking lot with drinking, dancing & load music. When they did move inside, they were loud all night. I had to ask for a receipt at checkout since I never got any receipt from them. Some updating would make this motel more pleasing.

This is my second stay at Janmere. My first was in a renovated room with no issues. Not so this time. When i arrived i checked in quickly which was a plus. I even received a text the day before saying my room was ready! I was in a hurry so i literally throw my bags in the room and left. Later, upon cliser inspection I was very disappointed. Before I elaborate on rhe negatives i will say that the bed was comfortable and the pillows were new. The fridge was new and worked well. The air conditioner was ok too. The tv was new and worked well. Now..the rest of the story. I must have been in the oldest room in the complex, #33. The carpet was old and had nasty stains. There was a fan attached to the wall that did not work. Also a strip light above the bed that was gutted. The walls were 1960's dark wood panel, so were the non blackout curtains. The door had old fashioned glass slats that cranked open. There was an overhead light right outside the door that was so bright it lit up the room but also shone directly on the bed! The picture was actually taken at night! My attempt to cover the light is in the picture. Now, the bathroom. The.mold beginning ro grow on the shower ceiling was most.likely due to the fact that there was zero..no ventilation in the bath. As a matter of fact. When i tried to open the window which also had glass slats..I found it to be covered and sealed completely in plastic! On the second day i decided to remove the plastic myself only to find that the window would not crank open. The first shower i took the water pressure was non existent. The second shower ranged from piping hot to ice cold every 30 seconds or so . Hence the entire bathroom had a layer of condensation everywhere! Which did not dry out! I didnt complain because the first night i returned too late and the office was closed. I also knew the likelihood of getting a new room was not an option. The place was sold out. Finally..I will say that I paid almost $200.00 for each night which is not outrageuous to be so close to the beach in mid July. I did send a ltter to the company that owns the Janmere. I am still waiting for a response.

I would not recommend this motel to stay!! The price is way too high for what the room was worth!! The freezer in the fridge was broken, the fridge froze food instead of keeping it cold, couldn’t get key to work in the door and was told by the staff member to wiggle it and turn the key to the left!!! This did not work!! They claim how clean the rooms were on their site but the rugs are stained and nasty, barely had enough hot water to shower and the filters on the ac units looked as though they have never been cleaned!!! Save your money and spend it at a better place that actually cares about their guests and their concerns. We were never informed of any renovations going on when we booked over a month ago. The pictures online are not what you get when you stay here!!! FALSE ADVERTISEMENT in my eyes!!!
