My husband and I booked a room here somewhat last minute for a night after camping and it was excellent! We were able to check in at 1pm which left plenty of time for us to enjoy the beach which was directly across from the motel. We got a room with a queen bed with an ocean view from our porch area that included two comfortable outdoor chairs and side table. The room was modest but clean and had everything we needed for a short getaway. Staff were very nice and accommodating. Looking forward to our next visit. Also the Lebanese takeout restaurant next door was to die for. We ate breakfast, lunch and dinner there. Amazing food and couple that run it. When we checked out the next day we were easily able to slip into a public parking space right across the street to extend our beach time.…

My husband and I were going for a couple of days to get away from the heat. This was wonderful. Right across the street from the beach. Had all amenities to fit our needs and was very clean. Would highly recommend this place!

Our normal beach vacation hotel is closed and up for sale so we were left with the task of finding another year-round accommodation for vacation. I called in early August to book the jacuzzi room for our vacation and was told "call back in two weeks." I waited almost a month and called the Sunday before labor day; I spoke with a male who told me to call back Monday morning after 9 AM. I gave them the benefit of the Monday holiday and called first thing Tuesday morning; I explained to the female who answered the phone that I was interested in booking for nine nights in October over the week of Columbus day. At first she told me she was "booked with winter rentals" and did not have any available rooms. When I said we were looking for an October rental (not winter) she told me they "don't do" winter rentals because the rooms aren't "winterized." We have taken our business elsewhere and recommend you do too.…

The windows were so dirty we couldn’t see out of them, with a rotten smell coming from the floor right in the kitchen. All the faucets dripped the whole time and the amount of dead bugs found throughout was horrible. When dealing with owner, I could not believe his attitude towards his guests. The owner of this place is a complete hot head . If you enjoy being yelled at by the owner of a very mediocre motel on your long awaited vacation that you drove 3300 miles to, then this is the place for you! If it had been a nice place to stay I could have overlooked the attitude but the place is in need of some renovating and an investment in better beds would be a plus. I will never stay here again and I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy.

While the location is good, The rooms are not worth amount charged. Floor was so Unlevel that when I was Sitting on the toilet I was leaning to one side. The rooms are small and very outdated. The owner is INCREDIBLY rude and unprofessional in every way. I wouldn’t recommend this place at all unless you are ok with overpaying and receiving bad service.

My Mom and I had been staying at the Grand View Motel nearly every summer since I was 12 years old and I'm now 35 going on 36. That is nearly 24 years of business plus countless referrals to friends and even random people I would tell how amazing this place is and how nice the owner Gary is. My boyfriend wanted to take me someplace nice for my upcoming birthday this August so the first place I thought of was the Grand View. I always dreamed of staying in the jacuzzi suite since I was a kid and now I finally thought I would get to. My boyfriend and I called and spoke to his daughter on the phone and she was shockingly rude. She said that the room is not available for 2 nights and it is only a weekly rental. When I asked to speak to Gary yesterday she said she would give him my message all the while she snickered at me on the phone. I thought okay well maybe she is having a bad day. Gary never called me back so I called again today. Meanwhile my boyfriend was able to book the jacuzzi suite on Expedia for 3 nights. Originally we were going to stay 2 nights but its my birthday trip and he wanted to make it special so he booked the 3 nights in my dream room. I was thrilled that we could stay in that room because I literally wanted to stay in it since I was 12! To my surprise...he then told me the hotel cancelled his reservation. I then called the hotel again and this time the daughter gave me Gary's cell phone so I then talked to him. He explained to me that the room is only available for a weekly stay so I told him on his website it says that room has a 2-3 night minimum stay when available listed right on the website. The room is available for the entire week beginning August 7th and we wanted to stay August 7-10. He remembered me and my Mom but said he is not doing anybody any favors because he was hit hard last year. I was not asking for a favor... The room is $319 a night and I was not asking for a lower price. I just wanted to book this room for my birthday. The website is falsely stating you can reserve it when available for a 2-3 night minimum stay under "summer rates" ( see photo attached it's a screenshot of the grand view website) Anyways...I am truly shocked and saddened by all of this. I always thought of Gary as a super nice guy and today I saw a different side of him. He said I can call back the night before to see if the room is booked and if it's not then he can book it for me. The night before my birthday! Unreal...all the 24 years of business my mom and I have given him and I was not asking for a favor, I was asking to book my dream room on my birthday weekend for 3 nights at the hotel I have so many wonderful memories at. I wasn't asking for a favor, I was trying to give him business! Makes me so very sad and I will have to say with the new customer service I would not recommend this motel to anybody. It is NOT what it used to be :-( You would think he would be happy to have my business and book this room but he would rather "wait and see" if he can get a better reservation from someone else. So very sad right now. Find someplace where they value their repeat customers business.…

It has been 2 years since our last visit, so I was very surprised to be greeted by name as we pulled in. Just as we remembered, our room was spotlessly clean and stocked with the necessities. Already looking forward to our next trip. There really is a family atmosphere here.

It's not a 5 star because they're still working on updating a variety of things, but it was clean and everything worked and the staff were very attentive and responsive. Unless you want to pay the big bucks, you won't find too many better options high season at Hampton Beach,

Well, we thought the recent TripAdvisor reviews were an indication that the rooms here have been renovated but our room (#5) was anything but. First time at Hampton Beach - staying 3 nights for Labor Day weekend. Beds are creaky and oldish, as are the linens. Very old dresser, nightstand, bathroom sink. Tiny TV about the size of my computer monitor - can’t even see the tennis ball in the US Open matches. Towels are so worn they’re like sandpaper - worse than rags you can buy at Ocean State. Everything metal was rusty and paints peeling. Paper thin walls means the thumping from upstairs are like they’re bowling above our heads. Worst thing is there’s no shade or blind on the frosted glass door so as soon as the sun comes up, the whole room explodes with bright light. We complained and the guy just nailed up a sheet on the door! We stayed 3 nights and not a single day have the linens or towels been changed. Even though we asked for no housekeeping the first day because we were in and out, they just didn’t bother the rest of the time. Not recommended! …
