Built in 1985, the Regal Inn has been a home away from home for many of our guests who return year after year. Stephen Jones says the Regal is "where strangers become friends". Our guests are pleasantly surprised to find that so many nice people are often staying at the Regal. We are very happy about that, also. Our guests claim our pool is the "Best in Hampton Beach" (Seasonal heated pool is open from June 15 till September 15). If a pool is important to you, you will be very happy at the Regal Inn. We also have a 4 person hot tub for our guests to enjoy. We have outdoor gas grills for our Hotel guests to enjoy outdoor barbecue and grilling. All rooms have Full bathroom, Air conditioner, Heat, Flat screen TV, Microwave and Refrigerator. Although there are no Ocean views from our rooms, we are just a short (two minute) walk to the beach. Actually, the fact that we are not on Ocean Boulevard provides our guests with a location that is quieter than most at Hampton Beach.

Let's say at 3am you wake up to a loud party above you, or a loud orgy (as we did) above you. There's no phone in the room. So you go downstairs (watch your footing, the staircases aren't to code) and find the front door locked and despite ringing the bell many times you get nothing. So you go back upstairs to the dilapidated room and call the hotel on your phone and get....no answer. The bed sags, the pillows are slabs of petrified foam, and the furniture battered and bruised by watching guests suffer. When we checked in, we found the fridge turned off. We found no ice bucket in the room. So down the first time I went and discovered that their ice machine is a counter top model you can purchase at Best Buy for about $250.00...and it too was turned off. Talk about an icy reception! I complained in the morning and the owner Sharon (who most certainly did NOT go to any school of hospitality and who most certainly was not hospitable) said she'd refund me in full. She alkso stated this in a text message. But soon as the days went past it became apparent that that too was over-promise and under-deliver. This woman has no business in this business, and her excuse that she cannot process a VISA transaction refund because she is now closed for the season meets me with irritation and disgust (because I own a business and can refund you anything I want at any time without using my transaction device). It's called a phone call to merchant services Sharon, and as for your dishonesty and sloth, let's see how many times these good people here do not attend your dumpy rundown motel because they've read this review and said "Good to know that this pothole is not one I am going to topple into." In this business people, you need to care about the comfort and treatment of guests. Sharon, why not try the mortuary business?

Definitely not worth it! Room smelled of mildew. The air conditioner was full of mold and Mildew. No heat except for the bathroom. I would not use the so called “heat” from the air conditioner as it smelled so very bad!! Bed not comfortable, no breakfast, and the bathroom was extremely outdated with boards screwed into the wall to hold up the towel racks and toilet paper holder. No real ice machine, just the kind you would have at your home to make an ice coffee. Walls were so very thin we could here the neighbor snore.. It definitely has a frat house type vibe. If your drunk enough, nothing will bother you!! I get it’s in Hampton Beach area so you would expect it to cost more, but not worth staying if you are paying more than $70 per night. We paid more than double that… It has the potential for a nice place with its location, but not gunna stay there again. Lesson learned, don’t try to cheap out for just $50 more for a reputable hotel… I’ll pay the extra next time for a nice place..

Booked a room in Feb of 2022. There were 3 couples traveling together. They fully charged for the room in March for a reservation for Oct. 15th. Two days ago, my friends cancelled their reservations upon hearing this place would close for the season on Oct. 1st. Their reservations were FULLY REFUNDED!! I called this morning, and was told they were only refunding me 50% as they had decided to stay open. This is a terrible way to do business!

I stayed here for two nights with my nephews. They were playing on the floor and kept pulling things out from under the bed. Some of the items were an empty drink, cigarette butts, a filthy hairbrush and more. How well are you cleaning if this can all be left under a bed. When we arrived the room had a very strong air freshener smell. Once this wore off all you could smell was cigarette smoke. This was a non-smoking room. I would never stay here again.

I did not see a lot of reviews on this site so I thought I would write one. We were in town for a concert at Wally’s. Stayed in room 319. Pleasantly surprised the room was very clean. We had one room with a double bed. The main area had a twin bed and a queen size bed. There is also a little kitchenette that was helpful. I have to say the bed was very comfortable. Perfect for a one night stay.

I've never left a 1* Hotel review. Chipped paint and dated decor don't bother us - if the place is clean, comfortable, safe and convenient. The Regal was none of those. Good location... but downhill from there. 1) The listing says front desk till 11pm. We got a call at 7:45 asking when we'd be checking in. We said about 8:30. "Oh, we'll be closed by then. We'll leave your room open and put an envelope on office window with instructions." Sure - we can cut some slack, entering slow season. 2) Not only was the desk closed, everything was unavailable. After a long day of driving, we were paying a "Resort Fee" to use the pool, sauna, etc. -- all of those were locked. 3) Our room and it had potential, was shabby. Maybe they had a tough season (or tough guests) with a broken desk chair, paint slopped all over the place. My wife refused to use the shower. All of that minor -- compared to the fact that anyone standing outside our room could see in (window coverings don't cover) and (SEE PHOTO) it's obvious someone had broken the deadbolt in and they didn't bother putting a hole in the jam to repair it! 4) Next morning I went to the front desk, greeted by "Press Button and we'll be with you in 2-3 minutes." Did that, waited 5 min, did it again, waited another 5... finally said chuck-it and left. Called later and the Manager told me I should be happy with the reduced "off-season" rate (still not cheap). Made no apology for anything, but finally agreed to refund "Resort Fee".

Well now. I cannot recommend this place. Toilet not bolted down, toilet wouldn't flush properly, sink clogged, carpets had an odor I just couldn't take any longer which is why we left a day early. None of the different wifi worked. Cable kept going out. Air conditioner worked fine but it vibrated the walls all night, couldn't sleep. No windows, except the glass door which you would have to leave open if you wanted fresh air. Way too many stairs. It was a far walk to the fun part of the beach. The good: Beds were comfortable and the room was clean when we got there. I would not stay here again. Question? Why do you need a sprinkler in the shower???

There was flies in the trash, wires hanging from the ceiling, toilet was not functioning, trash and previous tenants clothes under the beds. Generally unclean environment. Absolutely unbelievable this happens at the end of a global pandemic.

When we first arrived, our hotel room door was wide open. Very concerning and it wasn’t exactly spotless. For the price you would expect it to be a bit nicer. Given that it was a Friday night trip, there were many young people staying there and they were super noisy even past 2am. No rules what so every were put in place by the staff and it was disappointing to see. Super thin walls and narrow hallway. Especially being around the time of COVID-19, it just didn’t make me feel safe and clean.
