We were hesitant to book our trip with a B&B because we have so many experiences where "cozy, Victorian" places with "antique furniture" were basically small, dingy, old places with old stuff. While we enjoy grungy trips to other countries, we were looking for some comfortable relaxation in a New England winter wonderland on this trip. Carter Notch was everything... More

My wife discovered the Carter Notch Inn six years ago while searching for a location to celebrate our February anniversary. We were so taken with the Inn, its surroundings, and especially the gracious owners, Sally and Dick, that we have made this an annual event. We are cross-country skiers, and the Jackson Ski Touring Center is top notch. The Center's... More

I cannot say too many good things about the Carter Notch Inn. The Innkeepers are great - accommodating, friendly, funny, very knowledgeable about things to do in the area and they make the best B&B full breakfast I have ever had. The rooms are very nicely furnished and comfortable, with a New England charm. The common living room and dining... More

Carter Notch is the perfect place to stay in Jackson. This was our first visit to Jackson and we can't wait to go back and see Jackson in the Summer - we most definately will visit the Carter Notch. Dick and Sally are excellent hosts, who spend the time to get to know you and offer great advice about the... More

(originally posted April 24, 2006 -- date of stay: March 2006) Some weeks back my wife and I took a short vacation in the White Mountains at the tail end of the skiing season. Our plans were sketchily laid with only a general plan to partake in our once-every-decade foray into cross country skiing, some hiking, sight seeing and the... More

My husband and I have been going to Jackson, NH every year for a get a away weekend for over 10 years. Last year we decided to see if we could find a new place to stay and we found the Carter Notch Inn. The owners Sally and Dick provide an incredible Inn experience! From the minute you walk in... We just returned home from a weekend at Carter Norch Inn. It continues to be an excellent place to stay and watch the snow. Sally and Dick see to our every need and Chrissie keeps the beautifully decorated, antique rooms squeaky clean. Four of us went cross country skiing at Great Glen in Pinkham Notch, free due to the coupons... More

One of my favorite places to stay in NH for over a decade! The inn keepers are always very friendly and possess great sense of humour. They make my stay very comfortable and fun. The inn is very cozy and comfortable. It is like coming home at every visit.

We found the Carter Notch Inn to be such a peaceful and welcoming place during the Autumn of 2008, that we decided to return to spend 5 days there to end our honeymoon. The owners, Sally and Dick, are born to host, and the last week has been a real joy. The breakfasts are something to behold with something different... More

I've lost count of how many times my husband and I have stayed at this beautiful charming inn; Carter Notch is our favorite place to stay in New England and we feel relaxed as soon as we arrive. The inn is in a beautiful, quiet location away from the main roads and overlooks the Jackson Golf Course meadows and Doublehead... More
