The room was clean but the furniture was very dated. The bathroom fixtures were 60's vintage and the showers poured more water out in 5 min. than I use at home in a day. There were no "green" fixtures. The hallway carpeting was old and stained and the external woodwork on the buildings was cracked and had chipped paint. There...

Really thought this place was going to be nice. The location is great, beach bar is great and most of the staff were great. Now the room, it was old looking, shower curtain was covered in mold, ceiling had a large Crack in it and it looked like my daughter tried to fix it and there was sand on the...

I have stayed at the Margate several times! I have always been satisfied until this last experience! My daughter and her friend rented a couple of paddle boards...the friends son lost the paddle....The young man manning the rental told her that I would be charged for the lost paddle....the friend then wanted to talk to the manager who assured her...

Booked 2 weeks in advance. Arrived to be sent across a busy road to a building marked "INN" not Margate Inn - tricky. Looked like a old motel Margate bought for overflow rooms. Eight bags, 2 seniors & no elevator or porter. We were never advised of this situation but were told by the rooms manager to look at their...

We were there a couple weekends ago for a destination wedding. We stayed across the street in the building not on the lake waterfront. Rooms were dirty around the edges , maid service didn't come the first day and on the second day I had to go down the hall and ask her to come up and clean our room....

This was our fifth year of staying at The Margate and my husband and I both felt it had gotten run down. The staff is very nice and you can't beat the location but the rooms are damp and have a smell of mildew. When I called the front desk they said that is just how the lake view rooms...

We stayed here during a wedding. We had to stay 2 nights. I recommend staying across the street at the Inn. It is part of the Margate but a short walk to the beach. The rooms have just been renovated at the Inn. They were clean and large. You also save about 100 dollars a night. The drinks were good...

Stayed here for a weekend as was participating in the Timberman triathlon. Rooms were pretty run down. The location was nice with the lake nearby. The hotel is not for international travelers or people without a car. The check in was not until 4pm (which is fine) but if you get dropped off at the hotel ie/ if you had...

Its truly a beautiful New England Lakes region scenic resort directly on the waterfront. I attended a family wedding and stayed overnight. Our room was considered a premium room, water views, $129.00 per night. The room was traditional average hotel/motel resort interior. Nothing special, just average and comfortable. Many rooms were reserved for the wedding and we were told those...

Our room was lake front with a great view. Hotel restaurant and bar on the water was fun. Excellent drinks. Attentive friendly staff taking care of huge crowd on busy summer day. Many locals taking up tables and chairs made it hard for hotel guests to find seating. Our room was very old and outdated. They did not have the...
