This place is tidy and clean. It has everything you'd need. The owners Bob and Rita are very pleasant. The price is reasonable, $70 with taxes, 2 double beds. The decor is homey, with lace curtains, fresh paint, and a few pieces of charming furniture. Beds are fine. Plenty of ice and breakfast in the morning. We're pleased.

Let's start by saying that this is in no way a 4 1/2 star motel. I don't like to denigrate one's livelihood, but hospitality and muffins aside, this place has little to offer. 1- No amenities but a few bars of soap and a 20+ yr old tv. 2- Unpaved parking area, covered with sand, so that when you enter...

The Newport is an older motel (1960's ? vintage).so the decor is not terribly modern. However, the room was clean, the beds were very comfortable, the shower had modern controls and there was plenty of hot water. The room rate was the best I could find in the Sunapee area and the owner, Bob, was very friendly and went out...

First off, the pros... the owners are wonderful people and work hard to ensure that your stay is pleasant. Their friendly and accommodating demeanor really sets the tone for a pleasant stay. The location is great too... very close to Lake Sunapee / Mount Sunapee. The cons... this is a dated and tired property. Both the interior and exterior are...

Just returned from a 3 day stay and there were 8 of us. The owners are very friendly and are always right there if you need them. We all rode motorcycles there and there were no problems what so ever. Plenty of clean towels and sheets. They had a continental breakfast with muffins, bagels, toast, coffee, and juice. Bob and...

On our way from Canada and Virginia, we stayed at the Newport last year nad decided to stay several days this year. The motel is old but well maintained. This pet-friendly motel was perfect for us. We did opt for the larger room this year. The on-site owners are very responsive to any needs and extremely friendly. If you are...

We stayed at the Newport Motel recently. It is conveniently located close to Lake Sunapee. There was plenty of space in our room that had a fridge, cable, internet access, and a roomy bathroom with a nice hot shower! We had plenty of towels and the beds were so comfortable! We had a continental breakfast each morning that included homemade...

I needed a hotel to stay at on a very short notice. With all the other hotels in th eare being extremly expensive, this was a great find. The staff was very accomidating and polite. The room was very clean and good sized. Everything in the room worked well and it was quiet at night. The whole entire process went...

“Take only a room in the new wing. If you must take a room in the original motel, don't take the room by the road; our co-worker who stayed there is a very positive, non-complaining person, but it was even too loud for her! Also, allow time to air out your room and put on the heat, since they are very smelly and cold when you initially arrive.”
