Located less than a ten minute walk from any of the city's best eateries, the Hotel Portsmouth combines classic old American charm with modern comforts and amenities. The Loft is a split level suite with two bathrooms, tons of natural light, and the most comfortable bed ever. Service is both attentive and knowledgable in regards to the best of what... More

This was a perfect place to stay! We were in Portsmouth for one night and reserved this hotel through trip advisor. We were not disappointed at all! The room was clean and the bed was so comfortable! The staff was friendly and helpful and it is so convenient to the shopping and restaurants! We will definitely be staying here again!

Stayed in a queen suite, which was perfect for me and my teenage son. The decor of the room was modern/funky, and we had plenty of space. Bathroom was a little small, and could use some extra countertop space, if possible, but that was a minor issue. Beds were extremely comfortable. The rest of the hotel is terrific--has great style,... More

We spent two nights at the Hotel Portsmouth. Each and every member of the staff we interacted with went out of their way to make us feel welcomed and taken care of. The hotel itself is impeccably decorated with a perfect mix of old and new. We found the room to be spacious and the bed to be very comfortable.... More

Beautiful room! We are in the suite and it is spacious and very nice. Plenty of room to stretch out and clean as a whistle. Only issue is ice is at down stairs. Staff is friendly and nice. We are very happy to be here Portsmouth is a great town similar to Salem Massachusetts or mystic Connecticut.

This is certainly one handsome inn- the design fits the setting perfectly, and the details ooze charm. From the "his" and "hers" front lounge rooms, to the delicious small plates breakfast, The Hotel Portsmouth is a modern take on a New England inn that truly knocks it out of the park. (P.S. If you're lucky, you'll run into Josh in... More

This was our first visit to the Hotel Portsmouth since its transformation with new ownership from the Sise Inn, and what a wonderful upgrade! The location still has the charm, but now the modernization with an eye to recapturing the local flavor makes the premises even better. The hotel has been brought to life with great care, and the details... More

We returned for another stay at The Portland Hotel after an absence of two years. We had stayed there first right as it was being opened by its previous owners--a group we had met thru the Ale House Inn before that. This time we met the 'new' ownership group's staff, now Lark Hotels Group. We were delighted to find the... More

The hotel staff here is fantastic and the friendliest I've encountered in a very long time. Downtown is a short walk from the hotel lobby, so there is plenty to do while staying. The beds are very comfy and the rooms are clean. Breakfast consists of a small number of items, but all them were fresh, healthy and delicious. The... More
