My sister and I spent one night here while visiting the White Mountains with family. Perfect location for seeing Mt Washington, Franconia Notch State Park, Kancamagus Hwy etc. The lodge is clean and comfortable and we felt right at home. Beautiful views from the front of Twin Mountain. Affordable and convenient getaway. Staying here is so much more interesting than...

I stayed at Carlson's in November of last year and loved my stay. Carol was so kind! I really felt like I was staying with family. Carol and her sister cared about our stay, what we were doing in the area, and that we were comfortable. The breakfast room is adorable. The lodge itself is really neat - it has...

If you just need a room, provide your own breakfast, bring your own shampoo, don't have any other special needs (e.g. medical or disability), and don't anticipate any possible need to cancel (strict cancellation policy as is common for B&B's in the area), then everything else will be easy, comfortable and nice. Views are beautiful. The pros. The rooms are...

Hi Fred, For true Carlson's buffs your review reveals that you have stayed with us even before the Lodge existed! For those unfamiliar with our history, Carl, with the help of his wife Ruth, built Carlson's Lodge himself and and opened the doors to guests in 1973. Prior to this, there were 6 cabins. The lodge is currently run by...

We stay at Carlson's Lodge in the winter so that we can ski Bretton Woods. It's cozy and warm with a big fireplace in the living room area where you can relax and watch a little TV or just read a book. The rooms clean and comfortable. It's a couple of miles from Bretton Woods and not far from Cannon...

Stayed in a family suite for 4 nights with my husband and two (chronologically) adult boys. Skied at Cannon - with discounted tickets - one day. My husband and I hiked/snowshoed while the boys skied the other days. Carlsons is close to several ski areas - we've been to Bretton Woods, Loon, and Wildcat, so also tried Attitash this trip....

Carlson's is home away from home for us on winter break. Carol, Will, Cait and the whole family are extremely friendly, helpful and great hosts. If you want to relax by a big fire on a comfy couch, and be close to key destinations nearby without being at a tourist trap, you couldn't do better than this. Best lodge ever!

Carlson's Lodge is an old country inn with 24 rooms. The owner, Carol, takes great care of her customers. For those who love the outdoors, this is the place to stay in either summer or winter if you want to be near Mt Washington. You can hike or bike in the summer and ski, snow shoe, or snow mobile in...

Ideally located within easy driving distance to hiking and skiing, WMNF, food and drink choices, and breathtaking scenic views. Carol was so friendly and helpful that I canceled plans elsewhere to book with them, and we didn't regret it! Rooms were clean and nicely appointed and the atmosphere was cozy and relaxing. We highly recommend staying here and will gladly...

I had not been to Twin Mountain in years. We stayed several nights at Carlson's and it was terrific. Location is good for access to Northern New Hampshire and Mount Washington. Our room was big and bright. The folks at Carlson's could not have been more helpful. Best value for the dollar on our whole trip.

Thank Jim S
