Although this hotel includes decent WiFi and an outdoor pool, our ‘cottage’ was tiny: my bedside table consisted of a microwave on top of a fridge. The TV was pretty small and could offer only a narrow range of choices. There is no breakfast available on site, though it is only a short walk down on to the bars on the promenade. The shower worked well but the bathroom was also small. The whole place sloped significantly from one corner to the opposite one. It was helpful that we could park close by buy once you leave the porch you have to negotiate a grassed area. We received a warm welcome but this accommodation didn’t appeal.

Stayed at Halfmoon in the motel part for the Columbus Day Weekend. We were on the upper level which has a balcony view overlooking Lake Winnipesaukee. The Scenic Train Ride, and Lake Cruise boat could be seen from there as well. The room itself is just a standard motel room. It wasn't great, but it wasn't bad, and the bed was pretty comfortable. They have an outdoor swimming pool, but being that it was October, it wasn't open, not that it was good swimming weather anyways. Unfortunately it was cloudy with on and off rain most of the time, but the rain wasn't horrible during the day. We were able to walk around the Weirs Beach area that the motel overlooks. It has that sort of beach town vibe, that I'm sure is better in the summertime, as a lot of the shops were closed, but there were a few still open, and it was a nice area to walk around in. The motel is also a short drive away from Fun Spot, which is a huge arcade with tons of retro games, and other more modern arcade games and other features. If I were to stay there again it would probably be in the summertime, and maybe I'd try the cottages instead, also the pool would be open. It's definitely not a bad motel, and it's in a good area.

We booked this hotel specifically for its location. It is walking distance to Weirs Beach, the pier, restaurants, a few little shops and a few arcades. We were not impressed by the hotel at all. The rooms are old and dated and not very clean. Our room had a queen bed and pull out couch. The pull out couch was the worst “bed” I’ve ever slept on. It felt like a broken trampoline with bars and springs poking me all night. The room only had 3 outlets and two were broken. Even after unplugging the TV, microwave and a lamp, we still didn’t have enough outlets for our devices so we had to buy a power strip. There was a coffee pot on the desk but the cord didn’t reach the outlet so we had to brew our coffee in the bathroom. We stayed from Monday until Thursday and did not get any housekeeping. Even though we were there for 3 mornings, we were only given enough coffee and cups for two days. When I called to ask for more coffee, I was told I could come down to the office to get some. Each room has a bench outside on the balcony. However the bench is right in front of the AC unit which blows hot exhaust right on your backs. So be sure to turn off the AC if you want to sit outside. The pool area was fine however the bushes around it were very overgrown and coming through the fence into the pool area. Maintenance is definitely needed in that area. Overall, I would say only book this hotel if you are looking for something walking distance to Weirs Beach. We will likely never return.

The best part of this location is their charming check in staff. Don’t be fooled by the images on the website, they were obviously taken years ago. Though we were hoping to enjoy some time with nature, the virtual insectropolis climbing all over the walls and beds was a bit much for us. The pool is a sea of cracked concrete with weeds growing everywhere. The surrounding fence is well, a tetanus nightmare waiting to happen. Cottages are surrounded by broken lattice and trees growing up from beneath and through it. Though they claim to welcome you to bring your own portable grill, don’t. There is no designated grilling area, the ground is not even close to level and you will be subjected to constant harassment by the on-site “security”. It was hard to overlook the 24-7 waft of ciggarette smoke in the air and nearly impossible to sleep with motorcycle traffic up and down Tower street. The walkable activities leave much to be desired, though a short drive will get you to some really great places to eat and have fun. This is not the place for families, and if you have to stay here, 3 days is more than enough.

Booked this place for a 3 day stay in the area. It was just a short 1-1/2 block walk down the hill to most of the things to do around Weir's Beach. Room was clean but definitely dated. Bedding appeared to be new. Ice machine was full whenever we needed it. The view of the lake below the motel in fantastic! One thing to note is that there is not daily room service but if you want clean towels. etc you put them on the chairs in front of your room and they will replace them.

Very affordable and very clean motel. Nice view overlooking the lake. Free on-site parking. Walk across the street to the Mt. Washington Cruise Ship, the train excursion, and Mail Boat. Plenty of places to eat and drink. Will stay here again.

Have you ever visited Yogi's Cave at King's Dominion? This cabin recreated the experience by leaning at quite the angle, making you calculate your next step. It gives new meaning to rolling out of bed! Ever wonder what it would be like in a coffin? Try this shower to get an idea...small and dark. The bathroom is tiny and the door doesn't close correctly. Want to see nature? All sorts of creatures can crawl, slither and squeeze under the front door to visit you due to the large gap! Hospitality? I've seen friendlier rattlesnakes (fortunately none slithered under our cabin door). Getting fresh towels should not be a chore on vacation. Parking? Good luck squeezing into the grassy area between two cabins and trying to open your car door. Save yourself a headache and get a hotel elsewhere.

Awesome location! We stayed in a cottage which was great. Drove to Funspot but other then that we didn't even have to move the car. We hung out at the pool and arcades. We enjoyed our time here and would reccomend. I feel like every hotel is outdated so I don't think this was any worse then any others.

I stayed here 4 nights. The office lady was friendly. The room is large with a desk and chair, couch, microwave, and refrigerator. These are cabin like units that overlook the lake. Parking is assigned. The bed was very comfy. The parking area was gravel/dirt/mud that I tracked into the room due to rainy weather. No breakfast is offered and few eating options are nearby. There was no room service for the 4 days I stayed. I ran out of coffee in the room on Tuesday but the front office was closed all day and I was unable to get more. There was nobody to contact. I'm disappointed in the lack of service especially for the rate I paid.

The staff was really nice and the location was good. I'm setting aside the fact that it's Biketember and loud as hell 24/7. Room are average at best and price is high. You have to put your towels outside to get new ones and I did that, and never got new ones, I had to go ask for our towels back. The outlets are mostly not safe, one shocked me and is hanging out of the wall. The coffee pot is a nice touch but the cord doesn't reach the outlet, so either you put it on the floor or don't use it. There's no surfaces to put things down on it the whole room.
