What a wonderful B& B.....a stately Victorian with marvelous accommodations and wonderful afternoon tea, morning breakfasts. Our room accommodated three friends with a king bed and very comfortable pull out sofa. Friendly staff and great food. Situated close to town and the beach, but very quiet.

First of my 2 stays/year for last 15 years. Expanded parking on-site this year. Window a/c was very loud but fortunately weather was cool so only needed it on 1 night. Beach is 2 blocks within walking distance from inn and costs $6/person/day with savings for multiple days. Service and breakfast from Diane (innkeeper for many years) is outstanding. Some...

We stayed at the Mainstay last week in the apartment in the cottage just next to the main house. This is a wonderful B&B. The apartment was very comfortable for the 3 of us and could hold 4 people. It has a full kitchen if you want to use it and a small deck with table, chairs and an umbrella,...

We recently visited Cape May for our first time. It was a last minute decision to celebrate my fiancee's birthday and we were lucky to have found a room on a holiday weekend. The Mainstay Inn was the perfect location for our weekend get a way. It is one block from the beach and walking distanc to all restaurants and...

This Inn is the gold standard in Southern New Jersey. Sparkling clean, beautiful setting. Innkeepers were met were gracious, courteous and helpful. In the morning we eschewed the more cake like breakfast, and all three mornings the Innkeeper made us eggs. The rooms are unique and more than comfortable. Five star Inn.

We chose Mainstay with "zero" research and without a doubt discovered it's the best B&B in Cape May. We've been guests in June (2014 and 2015). Diane, the Inn manager, is patient and has demonstrated a true desire to make our stay special. All the employees are knowledgeable about CM, getting around, what to see and where to eat. Make...

This is a really imposing and special old house with incredibly high ceilings and chock full of dark Victorian furniture. It is a real period piece. Our room was okay. The mattress was a little weird, It had a foam layer that didn't impress. The linens and pillows could have been better. The bathroom was huge with a shower/tub. However...

We had an absolutely wonderful time here.Dianne,Rachel, Tracy and the entire staff should be commended for their hospitality, kindness and efforts to make guests feel so special. The rooms are beautifully appointed with antiques, the bathrooms have modern amenities with old world charm, the breakfasts are varied and delicious. Afternoon tea is served in the dining room or can be enjoyed...

Fresh fruit, hot bread pudding, eggs, yogurt, coffee, juice, etc. buffets w/seating thru huge window to porch. Still the best B&B in Cape May with third owners since 1977. We keep going to this B&B for over 20 years and are never disappointed. Well maintained. Innkeeper Diane has been there for 29 years and she is the best. Great for...

We had talked about staying at the Mainstay for years and finally had a chance to do so this summer. While the grounds and the common areas are charming, our room, which was not in the main house, was far from charming. The furnishings were just this side of shabby and the shower was the kind you might find on...
