I spent one night at Gene’s. I didn’t know what to expect because I couldn’t find reviews online. The price seemed decent for a 2bd room, and I didn’t expect much but I must say I was pleasantly surprised. I stayed in room 210. It was a large room with 2 queen size beds and lots of space. Fridge and microwave were functional. AC as well. Bed was comfortable, linens were clean. Towels are small though; that and the one ply toilet paper are my only negative points. But everything was clean and in order. Water pressure in the shower was excellent. One of the things that’s super useful is the plus outlet on the desk; there’s a regular outlet, a European outlet and 2 USB ports. Overall a great pick. It’s close to everything, there’s parking, WiFi doesn’t reach the back of the room but I didn’t spend a lot of time on-site. It’s not a 5 star but it’s a good spot and if I have to be in South’s Jersey again, I’ll definitely return.…

There are many things that are not great about this motel. I'm sure a lot of people are willing to deal with less-than-stellar arrangements in favor of saving a few dollars. But everyone draws a line somewhere: The cigarette burns in the sheets? sure. Rooms smell of smoke? yeah, whatever. The first roach? maybe it got in from outside. The second roach? nope, and we left.

Stayed 6 nights Read the reviews here and I to say , I was worried that I was going to move. No , it's not 5* but hey , you not paying a fortune so ...... I was very impressed towels changed EVERY day and bed changed ones. So guys ,do not expect 5 star treatment , but then you only paying 1/3 of the average price for the area . I would stay here again and again if I'll comeback. Thank you for having me Genes Motel

I was a bit nervous after reading some reviews . The rooms have all been updated and renovated . Bathroom was very clean , bed comfortable and pretty clean . For 65$ on Saturday when most of the other motels were above $100. The front desk staff is a little slow ( literally ) it's not a quick check in but very very nice .

So all I needed was a place to spend the night. I read the reviews and still came although I avoid motels. The rudeness of the attendant alone made me not even check in. Never again! I walked in and the man was sitting on the couch watching something and made me wait until it was convenient for him to come to the window to even acknowledge me. When I told him I had a reservation, he slid the bottom of the window to me with no instruction. After staring, I asked him what he needed. He looked at me and said "ID". I go to get my ID and then he says "And money". Thinking it's sarcasm solely due to his tone, I smile and tell him I put the hold on my card. Immediately, he got an attitude, said "Check your reservation" and went back to the couch to resume watching the TV. I walked out and booked another hotel…

Old but has some updates. Clean but maid doesn't do every day. No change of sheets for the 8 days I stayed. All amenities are at the office 50-60 yards away. Is fairly clean and not a bad place to rest you head. Does have refrigerator and cable tv. Air conditioning worked great(by room).

On the outside, I was afraid of what we were getting into. Checking in, I had to talk through a very thick piece of plastic/glass. I thought I was in a bank! Entering the room, we were blasted with heat and stuffiness. I thought there was no way the AC would catch up to this! I turned on the AC and we left for 4 hours. When we came back, the room was ice cold! The bed was comfortable, the shower was very good (for the price). Overall, I got my money's worth and then some. It's not expensive so don't expect much. But it does deliver a good night's sleep.

we were headed north yet again after a stay at comfort in downtown philly.(130$$) and our other stays were even more. we had to stay in a marriot the night before=$160. it was all that was available ,others had no power after hurricane Sandy.we had left greensboro,n.c. on sunday night to chase the storm with a pickup truck and a chainsaw.it took us lots of searching for the damage zones and lots of searching for motels. we were exhausted after doing 1 1/2 days of hard work and driving,driving , driving.Yet another "chain" motel was occupied down the street and they mentioned Genes'. amen amen and halleluyha ! a geat "mom&pop" motel with basic good cleanliness and great price. will we recoup our expenses? doubtful. we are going to look for more trees down and people who can afford to pay. we will do charity work too. Genes' is a wonderful respite from dumping money out of our pockets for a bed and warm bath! My nephew had never traveled this extensively nor had i traveled yankee land this much. there are great people here.Also, my nephew never had operated a chain saw. oh he has learned so much. I was really surprised about this place . Starting from the check in to the check out. My husband and I had a very nice get away night from the kids on Valentine's weekend. Room is cute and CLEAN. Rate was good and the jacuzzi was the best part. Need a night from the kids, go escape to Gene's. CHEAP and CLEAN !

I love genes, the people who check you in are a riot the rooms are cool and serve the purpose no horrible smells or anything the water pressure is great the hourly rates are even better! If your looking for the no tell motel with class this is the place!
