As expected for a Residence Inn, our room was very spacious. It had a pretty large kitchenette, eating area, and living room. The room was nothing special, but clean and had everything we needed. Due to COVID, breakfast was grab-and-go at the front desk each morning. They provided choices of Chobani yogurt, fruit, Nutrigrain bars, muffins, juice, and water, which you could pick and pack into a bag yourself. All in all, we had a comfortable stay and would return if we're back in the area.
I’m so disappointed in the fact that they are able to use the Marriott name. Where do I start? Believe the reviews when they say this place is not a good option-stay somewhere else. So many things to start with. First off, the noise level is TERRIBLE! Do not call the front desk and complain because it’s actually turned around on you like you have no business complaining about kids running above your head and stomping and loud booms and falling all day and night! I encountered such rudeness at the front desk that it makes you wonder if they were ever trained to understand the core values of being a Marriott employee and upholding the name? I was a child once and I was NEVER allowed to run through anywhere let alone hotel rooms and hallways. However as an adult guest, a paying adult guest, you are entitled to a clean room and comfort in a relaxed environment. Let’s get to the comfort and room. The bed is awful and the pillows offer no support whatsoever. I came here for R&R and left with back, neck aches, indigestion and constipation! The worse mattress ever like it will put you in the ER if you lay on it too long! The only positives were the restaurants in the area that delivered. Johnny D’s and Chido Burrito! Timely deliveries, amazing food and even better customer service! They bring the delivery directly to you room! Back to the hotel. I prepaid for the room with a debit card in full and at check in, I presented a credit card for the incidentals hold. Why is the hold amount on the debit card and not the credit card like I asked? Good thing I’m not in a financial bind I would be a nervous wreck having checks out. At any rate, I discovered the misstep the night before checking out and called the front desk to inquire. The gentleman was so nasty. I am polite as the customer and he has the nerve to be nasty like he is the client that had the issue. I just shook my head. I won’t be back and I will let Marriott Corp know these folks are messing up what they stand for. Don’t come here!…
Stayed a couple of nights at Residence Egg Harbor, NJ. I don’t think it is terribly new but, it was really clean. There were a number of long-term healthcare workers staying there and they certainly found it just like home. They offer a bagged breakfast - the usual diabetes in a bag stuff, but still a good effort. There are several place to eat nearby and a Walmart across the street. The most important thing about the stay was the desk agent Marie. She treated this hotel as if it was her home, and you were a VIP guest in her home. Her greeting when you came in at the end of the day was so warm and caring. She always asked if you needed anything. Marie is a real example of customer service at its best.
This is a terrific hotel to stay in during these weird times. Tons of space, your own kitchen to keep food, and free parking. The location was perfect for work and its easy to get to surrounding towns or AC if you need to. The only issues I had were in the bathroom. The towels were like sandpaper and while I get this isn't a JW Marriott, they were abnormally bad. Also the fan in the bathroom sounded like a bus engine, so that could be looked at. The shower had great water pressure and there was tons of hot water so that was what really matters.
Quiet, safe location 10 min from AC. Great restaurants within walking distance. Didn’t want to deal with the trash roaming around the boardwalk loitering around the front of our hotel. Clean rooms. Supposed to have breakfast but stopped serving at 9 am!! It was a to-go breakfast, not like there was much to clean up so when we got there at 10 and nothing was there, I deducted 1 star from review.
