We have been at this hotel a few years ago and once in 2011 and we booked our overnight stay because we were happy with their services until now. We arrived to our room and opened the refrigerator to store my insulin and smelled a horrible smell due to a sandwich that was left on the top shelf which my husband discarded. I wanted to take a bath before going to a wake and the stopper did not work, I mentioned it to the front desk which they gave me a few wash clothes to block the drain. (Which did not work) We left and returned for the night. We tried to get a good nights sleep until we woke up at 1:00am feeling too warm and we’re not able to sleep until 4am. We tried to turn the air/heat off but there was a sign stating that it is controlled by the office. My husband eventually was able to turn off the entire system. When I finally woke and was getting out of bed I noticed a huge stain on the sheet that made us wonder if the sheets were changed at all. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. I did take a picture of the stained sheet.…
Clean, updated, quiet. We were in town for a family reunion and didn’t have many hotel choices. So glad we chose this one. It’s in a great location with lots of shopping. We left two days early due to a tropical storm and they refunded both nights. Very pleased!
I'm a Diamond member presently staying at this hotel. I usually stay at other Hilton brands and this is my first time in a Hilton Garden Inn. I didn't notice when I checked in that they didn't say anything about breakfast but I went to ask today about the daily credit toward that and they informed me that I have selected to receive 750 Hilton points instead of a daily breakfast credit. I have never stayed at an HGI before so I definitely have never made such a selection, but sure enough when I go in and look that's the option that's checked off by default. They say there is nothing that can be done. So basically we miss out on 2 days of breakfast to receive 750 Hilton points, which is worth about $3.75 in award stays. The fact that Hilton would even give this choice in the first place is laughable and primarily disadvantages members who don't understand that Hilton points are only worth about half a cent each. But I also think it's regrettable that the hotel staff does not have an interest in rectifying a situation like this when clearly there has been a mistake and the result is that a supposedly valued guest is not going to get something they obviously had reason to expect. This is not in keeping with the Hilton Garden Inn Promise they post prominently around the building. But, I always say if you're going to take advantage of someone, at least do it with a smile. Two stars for friendliness and for the facilities overall being adequate.'…
I had an excellent day at this hotel. If you want a super modern room, this might not be the hotel for you, but everything was cleaned and worked fine. This is one of the only properties I've stayed at in a long time where they clean my room before I left. The front desk with courteous and efficient and the property isn't good working order. The only downside I see of this property is that it's a little bit difficult to find, so you will have to take your time with your map program... But once you do it once, you'll be fine.
The property is very clean. Staff is friendly and very accommodating. If you are looking for a nice place to say it is right off the parkway and close to the venues where we needed to go. Would highly recommend!
My mom and I visited this hotel for a mother/daughter getaway. I've been to quite a few Hiltons. Although this hotel was clean and very comfortable, it was not very convenient. They have a downstairs restaurant, however, they do not offer free breakfast. There's no room service (food) and there is no nearby outside restaurants that will deliver. You call to make an order then hoof it for pick up. The front desk was very kind and professional. We enjoyed a smooth check-in. Everyone was courteous and respectful. This hotel is 8- 10 miles from the shore. Although our overall experience was pleasant, we felt the hotel could offer more.
We needed a place while in town on business and there weren't a lot of options. It was clean and had food and shopping close by. Because it's considered a "shore town" I felt that the rooms were over priced for what you got. If you are Diamond and receive a food & beverage credit be sure that they actually deduct it from your final statement. I have this problem at most Hilton Garden Inn's.
Electrical outage occurred. Not their fault. But their lack of Emergency Preparedness is their fault. No lights, air conditioning, no elevator service. This lasted about 9 hours. I can walk down the stairs but would never be able to walk up. We were on the third floor. I am in my mid seventies. I had just taken my diabetic medication prior to going down for breakfast when this happened. I had no food available to me. We were trapped in our room. No one came to check on us. Should they not have come around and knocked on the doors to see if people are ok? Maybe the kitchen staff could have offered cold sandwiches? Something! Finally we attempt to make it down the stairs. NO EMERGENCY LIGHTING!!! Dark stairwells. They hung little patio lights here and there that were losing their power. I could not see my footing and tripped down 2 stairs. Don't they have a generator for emergency lighting in the stairwells? Horrible experience. The lobby looks ok. But the room was a nightmare. Dirty, dusty, mildew smell coming out of vents. Furniture chipped, stained and old. The bed was a nightmare. Worst mattress in a hotel we have ever experienced. Lumpy and hard at the same time. Our backs and hips hurt each day. We were entitled to breakfast each day. 2 days no breakfast was available. We were no compansated. The hotel used to offer a full buffet breakfast that was quite good. They should really go back to that. We have been customers in this hotel for years. It is not the same. …
This hotel was very clean and comfortable and I want to remember it if I am in the area again. It was convenient to get back on Garden State Parkway if needed and had its own convenient store and places nearby.
The Hilton Garden Inn is not a luxury hotel by any means, but it is what you need it to be, clean comfortable, and pleasant. we had a good stay while in town and would stay again. Early check in was espescially appreciated.
