This hotel clearly has not been updated in a number of years. Rooms are old and outdated and the outdoor pool area is similarly old and falling apart. For the price we paid, we expected a lot more. They didn't even have maid service. Beach area was nice though and the view from Oceanfront rooms was also very nice. Definitely not worth how much they are charging.

From the time we checked in, until the moment we left, I was floored by what little you get in return for the giant cost of this place. The location, setting, and smell (yes, smell) of this hotel are all absolutely amazing. Beautiful. That’s where the beauty ends. The two young women checking us in were pretty unsure of what they were doing, constantly checking protocols with one another, but we eventually got checked in. They asked us to wear bracelets identifying us as hotel guests so we could use the pool. We said we didn’t plan to use the pool during our stay (I didn’t even have a bathing suit) but they insisted it was also used throughout the hotel grounds to identify who the guests are. (Seriously? How strange is that?) Our room was not worth the $500/night they were charging. Not even remotely close, I like to think they charge for the ocean view & not the conditions of the room. Just one lightbulb was working in the bathroom, the pillows had those dust mite balls in them, and the furniture legs looked like they had been eaten by an animal. But that view is amazing. Last, and possibly one thing I never thought I’d write a review about, are the parking gates. You use your room key to come in & out. We parked once we got there and didn’t drive again until after our stay. When we left, as we tried to exit, we tried using our card, but the screen was telling us that we were already outside of their grounds. What the likely issue was from the day before, we took an Uber from and back to the property. When we left they used our card, but did not scan it on the way back onto the hotel property. Anyway, we’re now driving off the property, but we’re stuck at the gate (there are 2). Coincidentally, there is someone stuck at the other gate with the same issue, the room key isn’t working. We both call through the panel on the box for assistance. We both get voicemail…how is that even possible, but ok. We continue to try, but now traffic has cued up behind us, quite a bit of it. Nobody winds up answering the calls for help, so we call the front desk, from a cell phone, who advises us that security would be out within the next 10 minutes to figure it out. We had at least 10 cars behind us with nowhere to go. 5 minutes later the gate opened and we left. While I’m born, raised, and still living in NJ, I’ll continue to frequent the shore every chance I get. Just not here, not ever again.

Hotel was clean and the downstairs is beautiful. A few things we liked - friendly staff, simple but lovely coffee bar every morning, room was clean, great shower, comfy pillows, quiet, and the beautiful view from the room balcony to sit and enjoy, & the tiki bar was awesome! A bit pricey but it was to be expected with the Sea Hear Now Festival.

The title says it all. The service was horrible, especially the front desk. The hotel was old, tired, dated and dirty. Our room looked like an old motel room. You expect much more from a place charging $400/night. We got ripped off.

This is NOT an upscale, elegant LUXURY resort, as reflected in your website and in ridiculously high prices. The rooms are in total disrepair. When we originally checked in, in June, we needed to change rooms immediately because of a terrible odor. We were then moved to another room. I have attached photos of the DISGUSTING disrepair of the room. 1- Looking at the pictures in the bathroom by the tub, the “grout work” is not a $500 per night room 2- Previously, we had always thoroughly enjoyed spending time on the terrace, which this time was riddled with dirty puddles and tons of bird droppings. Whe we called to complain, they sent extra towels to drape over the poop in order to make it tolerable to be out there. Plus, The railing was too dirty to lean on. 3- The chair that was left on the terrace was dirty and shabby, as you can see in the photos. 4- The blasting and distasteful music from below was a nuisance in the room 5- Then there's the heavy door to the bathroom never closed and would bang hard and loud into the entry door, making us jump out of our skin every time. There should be a door stop, or something done to prevent that from happening. Even more frustrating, was the fact that 10 e-mails that I sent, and 6 voice messages I left, were completely ignored by management. I’m sure you’ll agree, based on the pictures alone, that this is not what one would expect from a reputable, upscale resort. Certainly not what is reflected on their website. Save your money and go to WAVE RESORT instead.
