Based upon some of the recent reviews, I truly expected the worst for our two night stay at the Mt. Arlington Courtyard; but was pleasantly surprised by the condition and quality of the property and the professionalism of the staff. The Hotel, apparently, is a popular base for people attending destination weddings and other events in the area, and during our stay, the place hosted the quests for at least three weddings, as well as several families attending a sports tournament. Although I expected long lines and stressed out staff at the front desk, check-in and check-out were a breeze and the staff was efficient, courteous, helpful, and professional in all respects. Our room was large and most importantly, very clean, and while I am not a fan of the minimalist design, which, as others have pointed out, uses an exposed bar on the wall for hanging clothes instead of a traditional closet, this was not enough of a negative to ruin a normal person's stay. (Our room had at least eight, swivel-top hangers that allowed us to hang our cloths parallel to the wall. rather than perpendicular to the wall like in a standard closet.) The bathroom was on the smallish side, but had enough counterspace to serve our needs. The Wi-Fi connection was adequate and free of charge for the basic service (email and surfing the web) and $4.95 per day (free for Bonvoy Gold Elite Members or higher) for enhanced service (streaming, video games, etc.). Contrary to the complaints in other recent reviews, we had a full buffet breakfast each morning and the bar was open from early evening until at least 10 pm. Other than the breakfast buffet, however, there was no other food service available, which seems to be a trend in hotels of this class. And while the Hotel is under renovation, the work appears nearly complete and should not be an issue, particularly on weekends. My only complaint is that housekeeping could have done a better job cleaning the hallway outside our room, where there were scraps of paper and food droppings that remained in the same place during our stay, which the housecleaning staff could not have possibly missed when they cleaned the rooms on the floor. Overall, we have a very positive and pleasant stay at the Mt. Arlington Courtyard.

Covid remains an excuse for no service and no food at this Courtyard Hotel. But the real issue is the newly refurbished rooms. Minimalist furniture leaves only 2 small drawers for storage of anything in the room. No storage in the bathroom(only small countertop Nightstand have no drawer. Best of all their is no closet! Just what would normally be a bath grab bar mounted 6 feet up on a wall. Of course it only stands out 3 inches from the wall, so nothing can be hung perpendicular to the wall on a hanger- Wait, THEY DON'T provide any hangers either! So be prepared to live out of your suitcase when you stay here. This motel is used for many local weddings. To think that guests, wearing gowns and black tie, want to live out of their suitcases is ridiculous. Shame on Marriott. This place sucks!!!!!!!

Hello, Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback on our property. We are always looking for ways to improve and will share your sentiments about our renovation design with the appropriate team. We are currently serving breakfast every morning and our bar is currently open Wednesday through Sunday nights. While we apologize that they were not in your room at check-in, we do provide hangers for guest rooms and would have been happy to have supplied you with them.

I'm giving this 2 stars - 1 for cleanliness and 1 for the kind and friendly staff. The rest of the stars were lost on the entire experience. First, upon walking into our room there was a considerable wet spot in the carpet. I don't even want to guess what was cleaned up prior to our check in, but it was still very wet. We arrived for a wedding, so as we unpacked and prepped to hang our event clothing we noticed a completely useless "closet" which consisted of an industrial bar and no hangers. It's also too shallow to hang a normal hanger. Then we'll just use a dresser. Nope! Nothing for clothing storage. There was a desk and chair, some rolling console thing, a nightstand and beds. Living out of a suitcase for several days is not fun. The entire room was about form and not function. Whatever. We went to dinner, and upon coming back, one guest was excited to go to the pool. We check with the front desk to ask where it's located, and despite the pool being advertised on their website, it was actually filled in months ago to become a conference area. Awesome. What about the gym? Well, that's closed, too. Still advertised as an amenity. Leaving the next morning, I'm shuffling around the room looking for a do not disturb, and there's nothing. I ended up using a piece of scrap paper. The room keys we used to access our rooms said "Elite" on them - so thinking I had signed up for the Elite membership last time I was at a Marriott, I went ahead and used the wifi. NOPE! $5 for that, and the connectivity was garbage. On the final morning, went to use the hair dryer and "hey, this bathroom outlet isn't working", so I tried another. The hairdryer was broken. For $400 and 2 nights, we got no closet, no place to store clothes, no advertised amenities, no continental breakfast, and weak wifi. This entire experience was about under-providing basic comforts of travel and then nickel and diming you for the rest. To add insult to injury, our travel partner booked her room 2 days before the wedding, for which we used the wedding block, and she paid $50 less. The bride and groom specifically reserved easily 20 rooms for their guests. That's an easy sale for a hotel chain, and rather than providing a wonderful experience, they under provided and overcharged. I will never stay at a Marriott chain again. Loyalty is earned with customer service, and this was grossly lacking. This is why we usually stay at mom and pop inns, and will continue to do so.

Stayed one night for a wedding. I found the front desk staff helpful and accommodating. The room was large, clean, and comfortable. Bathroom is a little small. Wish they had the TV so it could be tilted, hard to watch while laying in bed. Windows were all covered on the outside with plastic, so I couldn't see out (maybe doing some kind of painting). Breakfast was good, decent selection. I would be happy to stay again if in the area.

Great Courtyard just off the highway in quiet location. The hotel is being renovated, I was lucky enough to get one of the new rooms. The front desk staff is excellent and very service minded. Breakfast and bar not up and running yet.
