The walls are thin and our next door neighbor had the music on full blast. We ended up with 1.5 hours of sleep before our flight. The beds were so uncomfortable and you felt every move of the person next to you. Someone was smoking and it came in through our air conditioning. Strong smell of pot every time you walked out the door. The vehicle for the shuttle to the airport was horrible, bounced all over the place. I was very nervous that I had to leave my car keys for the park and ride. I've never been asked for that before. They did move my car, but I'm not sure why. They messed with my display. Only good thing was the wait staff at the bar/grill place and the driver was nice.
Over all this the Best Option IN EWR region. Very well connected the the airport. Shuttle service is good. Restaurant is good though not in operation at present. Clean and quite rooms, well decorated. Need to reduce price!
Mold above window along ceiling and in shower, excessive stains on upholstery, cigarette burns and blood on blanket. No hair dryer in room. Called front desk and no answer. Front desk attendant was dressed in a sweatshirt and said he would try to provide a dryer but then shrugged when I asked if he would actually be able to find one. No follow up and no hair dryer until my husband tracked down someone from housekeeping on his own.
Whirlpool in the room had floating debris including hair and what looking like semen. Shuttle drive reeked of POT and was very late picking us up. Bed sagged to the middle. Room was cheap motel quality, not $150 3-star hotel quality.
Perfect and rather inexpensive location to visit the 9/11 area. Uber to Penn Station and Path train to 9/11 and just reverse the order to return. It was a beautiful day in the city. Just a clear as it was on 9/11/01.
The front desk person Shaquan.was very rude and unprofessional.the worst front desk in any hotel I've stayed in worldwide ! The room was ok.the breakfast ok. The restaurant on-site had decent food and service a little slow. I would not recommend.
Had confirmed late check in due to late flight. When we arrived we were given a room that was already occupied so disturbed someone. Then we were told by the front desk that they had no more double rooms which we had specifically booked and guaranteed. So we had to sleep in a king bed and it didn't work out well. Got almost no sleep! Cannot recommend this hotel. Staff wasn't able to help, no manager on duty.
Don’t judge a book by it’s appearance. The location and the outside of the building are deceiving. The Best Western Plus, Newark offers clean rooms and a pleasant stay. The hotel was quiet which is impressive since it’s right at the airport. The shuttle was timely and the driver was friendly and helpful. No breakfast early in the morning (5:30am shuttle) but they do have breakfast and there is a restaurant on site. Staying so close to the airport and leaving our car on site made life so much easier. Would definitely recommend.
I had to pick up my wife the next morning at the Cape Liberty Cruise Port in nearby Bayonne. I had Best Western Rewards points, so I booked this hotel the night before. The staff were not overly friendly but not rude either. The hotel room was nice and served my needs. I would recommend this hotel to others.
Terrible experience, starting with a noisy room, that we couldn't sleep because of a noisy AC, when coming back from a time off, and waiting to pick our car me and my family were waiting to the hotel shuttle for about 50min (10pm late with with small kids), while the rep is keep lying and saying the shuttle "is on it's way"... Worse experience ever
