It always amazes me that hotel/motel managers and owners don’t under that if they clean the rooms good and maintain the property, they can charge higher prices. Replace any bedding or towels that are stained. Keep the floors clean so people aren’t afraid to walk on the with bare feet. Clean the back of the door even though housekeepers can’t see it unless they close it. Dust the top of door trim and picture frames. Clean behind the bed, dresser and night stands. Jon Taffer needs to spend a week here. This is a really nice part of NJ, other nicer hotels are charging $80+ a night more and they are worth it. I stayed here a few years ago and it was horable, I tried it again and hoped it would be better, it wasn’t. I honestly hope this review helps this property improve.

Stayed 2 nights while visiting family in area. $81 out the door in this area pretty cheap. 2 queens.
Remember when this was Fehers country inn( now an Italian restaurant) when we lived here in the 70-80s.
Would stay again for sure. Dish tv
Remember Stewarts root beer down street

We stayed one night with our dog at Econo Lodge while visiting Delaware Water Gap. The front desk staff were friendly and the room was clean. It was a little small but clean and suited our needs. The bed was comfortable and there was plenty of hot water for showers. I would probably stay here again if visiting the area, especially if traveling with the dog.

We reserved two suites in April so we could attend a family members funeral. The establishment we usually stay at was booked. So, I did my due diligence and viewed the photos and reviews of this property as it was in the town of the funeral. The photos on the website are from about 20 years ago. They make the property look great. Great it is NOT!! Everything in the rooms is OLD and SMELLY!! The bathroom is disgusting. Rust on everything. The sink only had cold water!! The tub/shower has to be in a certain spot to get hot water!! Needless to say I took a cold shower. :( The room we stayed in was so stinky I actually thought about going to the car to spend the rest of the night. My mother woke up during the middle of the night to a wet bed. Yes, the mattress was leaking and wet. The door to our two rooms have a 2inch or more gap. They don't have breakfast. I believe they have now taken that off the website but when I was looking it said they had breakfast. If you want to use the TV you need to get instructions from the front desk. So, we stayed one night and checked out. After I explained all of this to the front desk person I was told he could only refund $50 per room on the 2nd night and that he would talk with the Manager who was in California. I have written Choice Hotels corporate offices as well but to no avail. They want to give me points so I will stay at another Choice hotel. I doubt that will every happen!! As I said I have stayed at cleaner and nicer campgrounds.

I’ll start this by saying how nice the two staff members I encountered were. They were very accommodating with my very late check in. I highly recommend them. Now, the rest. When we got to our room, the door had not been pulled to so it opened with a slight touch. Once in the room REEKED of cigarette smoke. It was horrible and absolutely everywhere. The bathroom was freezing because the top window had slid down some because the lock was broken. The bottom part of the window was broken and covered with cardboard and tape. In order to feel safe, we blocked the door with the ironing board just in case someone broke in. I know budget hotels are cheap for a reason but this was beyond acceptable. Had it not been nearly midnight, we would have asked for our money back and left. The bed was actually very comfortable but the three pillows on the king were pancake thin, lumpy and very small.

We tried to sleep but the cigarette smell was so bad that it triggered my lung condition and I had an asthma like attack. Even my husband slept with a hoodie pulled over his face to try and lessen the smell.

The hotel was such a poor experience that we ended up modifying the next day activities because we were absolutely exhausted. Room 140 was a nightmare. I’m sure other people have had good experiences but you couldn’t pay me to stay here again.

The absolute worst "motel" I ever walked into. I'm a older woman who has traveled extensively and this was the first time in my life I ever refused to stay at a place that I had reserved. The room was disgusting and the people lurking in the parking very scary. Front desk was no help. I checked in, opened the door to the room, saw the stains everywhere and the horrible smell, went back to the desk and said I couldn't stay in that room. They claimed to have nothing else and refused to refund me even a portion of the charge. I tried to dispute with Choice Hotels, no help at all there. Stay away unless you are a crackhead, then you will fit right in.
Trip Advisor won't let me give zero stars.

My vehicle broke down on I-84 West in PA., and had to have it towed to a repair shop in Newton, NJ. I had to find lodging for the night in the area. I called Econo Lodge and they held a room for me. The front desk was friendly and helpful. The room was fine...clean and included a fridge and microwave.

A real comfortable place to call home for a long stay. The room was a bit dark but it was comfy. I was here on stinking hot days and I was here during a storm. Either way i felt at home. Handy laundrette was a bonus.

Quiet. Clean. No frills, just the basics. Good price. No carpeting, which is an added plus. Nice staff. Nice area. Room is just big enough for comfort. Huge parking lot. Our room had a front and back window- another added plus.

Our room on the 2nd floor was awful! The carpet was not vacuumed, the wallpaper was peeling, the towel rack in bathroom was broken in half and not fully attached to the wall, and the ceiling above the shower head was discolored and crumbling. I would not have stayed in the room if I was alone, I wouldn't have felt safe (the door and lock was a bit unsturdy). It looked like there had been a murder in my bed (the stains were disgusting). Highpoints: the shower was redeeming (hot w/good pressure) and there was a mini fridge. Overall, not worth the money you pay.
