We were out of town for Christmas when we got stuck in the blizzard. On top of that out daughter became sick and we spent 9 hours in a hospital. Trying to get to family for the holidays we booked to stay here for one night. Over the duration of the night my daughter became worse and we decided it was best to return to the hospital and get home asap instead of continue our vacation. Less than 8 hours after booking the room I tried to cancel explaining the situation hoping for at least a partial refund( what is listed on booking.com for that room if you cancel) but was denied and full balance plus cancel fees were deducted. I was not asked for a hospital bill to prove our situation just a denial. Common human decency is lacking here and running a business solely to make money fudge everything else is a set up for failure. I do not recommend this place.…
Just looking for a nice place for one night before heading home after Thanksgiving. We found the Atlantic Motel was fine and fairly clean. Had a little balcony where we could sit and watch the fishing boats and some of the inlet workings. Needs a coffee machine, but found room and bed comfortable. Excellent pricing. Nice night manager. On our list of return spots to stay.
Stay the hell away from this DUMP, unpleasant, unprofessional, fifty years behind the times. Mold, dirt, hair - bathroom is disgusting. Had to check out as we did not feel safe staying in this Place even for one night! Spend a few dollars more be safe be healthy and enjoy it.
This motel was dirty, disgusting, refrigerator broken, screen doors broken, rude employees,15year old trying to pose as manager,a grown man continously stalking us. I will never spend 1 dollar in point pleasant because of this disgusting motel...done with motels!!!
Very nice room for a family of 4. We had 2 young children with us. Although the room was a bit small, we stayed for one night so we didn’t mind. The bathroom was tiny however. And in the bathtub we found hair. Besides that, everywhere else was clean. The beds were very comfy. There isn’t any vending machine for drinks and snacks but up the road is 711. I also love that there’s a breakfast and lunch spot across the street from the motel which made it convenient for us to grab a bite before heading to the beach. If I’m ever around the area, I would probably book this place again.
My boyfriend booked a 2 night stay at The Atlantic Motel, this was a spur of the moment trip and we wanted to get to the beach before the 4th of July. I read reviews and saw good ones and bad ones, I figured I shouldn't judge until I see for myself. The girl at the front desk was very nice and helpful, she called my boyfriend when the room was ready for us. Once we got our keys and walked our bags to the room, I suggested we check under the mattress to make sure there's no bed bugs (I've always seen horror stories on FB so I figured we should check). My boyfriend lifted the mattress and we founds syringes in between the mattress and the box spring. Pretty disgusting that the room was not cleaned from the people who used it before us. God forbid one of us stepped on a syringe?! We went to tell the front desk attendant and she kept going to the back room behind the counter to speak to her "boss". Not once did the boss come out to talk to us about what just happened. The girl told us the head cleaning woman would clean the room for us but we didn't feel comfortable staying in that room. (I attached photos of the room for reference.) After saying we were uncomfortable, the girl said she can upgrade us to the king suite, we went to that room and saw ants all over the table next to the bed. We didn't go to the front desk again because I'm pretty sure there was nothing better at this place! If you stay at this motel, check under the mattress and make sure you inspect the room.…
I booked my one night stay, months in advance through hotels.com, who I've used many times and have never had an issue. The hotels.com cancelation policy was 10 days in advance. When hotels.com online couldn't find my reservation I was forced to leave a message and wait for a call back. In the meantime I called the hotel, explained I needed to cancel and was told I had to cancel through Hotels.com, they couldn't help me, AND that their cancelation policy is 2 weeks in advance, not 10 days. You can't have it both ways- you can't push me to talk to hotels and offer zero help, but then say you're going to supersede the hotels.com policy, to your benefit. Needless to say I ended up with the $275.00 bill, for a stay I didn't use, simply because the hotel refused to work with me, reach out to hotels.com on my behalf, (why should they, right, they already charged my card at the time of booking, obviously knowing full well their cancelation policy didn't match the hotels.com policy). Never again. I don't care if its the only room left at the beach I will never book here again- and i promise I will tell everyone I know about this experience.…
Everything about this place screams cheap. Where to start. The toilet seat was thin plastic and was not bolted down properly so that it slid around while in use. There was only two clothes hangers for a room that had boooked 3 people. The kitchenette was a mini fridge and microwave positioned behind your clothes in the closet. No coffee maker. There was no suitcase stands. It was terribly noisy, thin walls, street noise and a laundry next door that seemed to run all night.. The room was tiny, just a little bigger than the two double beds. Then there was the staff smoking area , positioned right outside my window. I don't know if all the rooms were like mine, but I couldn't have been more disappointed.
This motel is nothing fancy but how much are you actually in your room when you are down the shore? I was amazed by how clean the rooms was. It looked like the sheets were even ironed. Our stay was during the Delta COVID increase so I asked that no cleaning service be done during our stay trying to keep people out of the room. Everyone that we spoke to was super friendly & we enjoyed our stay very much. The room rates are very reasonable for a shore motel & we will come back again.
This motel was perfect for a weekend getaway at a great price. We came with friends and for 2 rooms. I was worried that given the low price it might be a little “skeevy” but I was wrong. The rooms are very clean, modern, and spacious. The air conditioning worked very well. The 4 person rooms had a nice little balcony. We didn’t use the pool but did see it and you can tell they upkeep it well. Walking distance to the dockside restaurants which was nice. The walk to the beach was a bit far for us so we took a 3 minute uber which was well worth it. All in all I would absolutely stay here again!
