Very bad room. Bathroom window did not shut, had no curtain so we were looking at people in parking lot while using it, and had no screen so bugs flew in. Toilet seat was broken, all scratched up and dirty. Entrance door had such large gaps around it we could see daylight and bugs could fly in. Refrigerator was covered with rust. Room smelled like mildew. Trim In bath was rotted and had black mold. Vending machine took our money but gave no items. What a rip off, don’t waste your money, go somewhere else. Obviously a very poorly managed place.
The reason we selected this hotel was because it was on the beach with outdoor pools by the beach. We arrived to find all the pools covered . The management said they decided to close the pools early. They never notified us. They have a private beach but put up a red flag and no lifeguard so you were swimming at your own risk. The fridge froze everything we put in it including our sandwiches. The deck needs serious painting We had to cross the street and go into their other building just to get ice. September is a beautiful time to go to the jersey shore but not at the White Sands. P.S. It’s off season & we still paid $255 for the room!!!
Just came from my weekend getaway with friends we checked in to room 414 ocean view room which was wonderful to have. The room sleeps 6 two queen size beds and a Murphy bed and was comfortable and all you had to do was walk down to the beach. When it came to getting ready to go to sleep the Murphy bed was not coming down...called maintenance and finally they were able pull it down but told us that the would come in the morning to fix it. The chain lick was broken also which made us feel uncomfortable and we didn’t have enough towels for six people and no toilet paper in the bathroom or tissues. The room was super dusty which caused our allergy attacks. Next morning we go to front desk to inform them of what happened in our room and made us feel as if we broke the bed. For the amount of money we paid they should have catered to our complaints... they said they had no rooms available mind you the parking lot was empty so they BS us. They couldn’t fix the bed and moved us to room 412 which was bigger but the room was not clean... bathroom seat was dirty the place was dusty. It’s a shame that this hotel can be great because it’s by the beach and close to the boardwalk it just needs updating better cleaning service and nicer and mor accommodating desk service. No i don’t recommend this hotel
Where do I begin? I think it all comes down to poor leadership. The owners are more concerned about money than they are about their guests. So the little things, the important things that help make a stay comfortable are overlooked, as if they just don't care.
The room was not as clean as we are used to which makes it hard to sleep. It looked like the housekeeping completely ignored the balcony. There was a stain on the table, a stain on the floor and cob webs all over. There was even an old rusty bottle cap on the floor of the balcony.
The breakfast was sad. The hotel actually framed the definition of "continental breakfast" and had that displayed with the breakfast fare. My guess is that so many people complained about the breakfast that they feel the need to defend themselves. Everyone knows what a continental breakfast is. And there are happy continental breakfasts, and there are sad continental breakfasts. This one is sad.
I will leave it at that. I do not recommend this place and I think they are in business because they are at the beach. If the owners cared a bit more - this could be a wonderful place.
The place looked okay from the outside but you could tell it needed some work. Once inside the room it was not at all as how the pictures portrayed it. The cleanliness of the rooms was substandard, the pillows, and bedding stained. Rundown, noisy, moldy, dusty, Not my idea of a getaway!

Yes! In town there is Shore riders bike rentals. Right now we are in the process and having rentals on our property, but that is still in the works and we don’t have a definate time when they will be available. You can ride bikes on the boardwalk before 9am, and there are sidewalks all through town.
