Hotel's Favourite
Our family stayed here for the Christmas weekend, and couldn’t have had a better experience. The price was reasonable for this hotel; the rooms were nice; the breakfast at the hotel was delicious and reasonably priced (as long as you ordered a la carte, not buffet); and the staff was warm, welcoming, and delivered exceptional service throughout our stay.
Special thanks to Heather at the front desk, for helping us with an early check-in as well as a couple of other minor things. And hats off to the others at the front desk and in the restaurant, who were equally warm and service/oriented.
Did I mention that the indoor pool is beautiful, and the hot tub will melt your cares away?
Will return again, the next time we are in town

I spent 3 nights at this Hilton location last fall while visiting relatives in the NJ & NYC area. The room was beautifully decorated as well as very comfortable and clean. There was a wedding that weekend yet the noise did not permeate the entire hotel so sleep was possible. The front desk was attentive, housekeeping was discrete, and the location was easy to use as a home base while traveling around the area. Plus, the Short Hills Mall is right across the street, so I was able to walk over and grab a few gifts. ( Maybe not much else in walking distance so you will need a car to get around). This hotel's accommodations had the feel of a Four Seasons or Ritz for a much more reasonable price. Overall, truly one of the nicest Hilton hotels I've visited and will stay here again.

Stayed at the hotel with a group for a wedding. It was a quick check-in process and everyone was very friendly. The room was very clean and had Crabtree & Evelyn products in the bathroom. The beds were comfortable and I got a good night's sleep even though I was in an adjoining room (which I did not request and didn't know the people next door to me) and I could hear everything from that room. The only reason I didn't give it five stars was because of the prices in the restaurant. The breakfast buffet is $32. We decided to order off of the menu and eggs with toast (no potatoes) was $16. Coffee is $6 and it was just so-so coffee. There was a child in our group and I asked if I could just get a side order of eggs and was told that it would be $18.50 which makes no sense considering an omelette is $16. I was told that it would be cheaper to get the kids' buffet for $12 which is what I did but I still paid $12 for one egg and a bowl o cereal. If they lowered the price to something reasonable like $22 per person, I think everyone would just do the buffet. I live in Manhattan where prices are high but I never paid $6 for a regular cup of coffee.

That in the past 12 months they have gone from free overnight parking to $10/day to now $18/day for a lot that is open to the public. So in other words, if you visit the hotel for lunch, a meeting etc. you park for free. But if you actually pay to stay there, you will also pay $18/day for parking your car. It is outrageous!

This was another in a continuing line of bad Hilton stays since I became a Diamond member of Hilton Honors. This is particularly sad as I used to be a very loyal Hilton guest and always felt their hotels - while a bit dowdier than their competitors - usually excelled in terms of customer service and hospitality. From my stay here at the Hilton Short Hills, that is clearly no longer the case.
My stay started badly upon arrival and unloading my car directly in front of the hotel and found no bell staff or luggage carts anywhere. Ducked my head inside to ask for a cart only to find the bellman chatting away completely oblivious to the fact that he had a job to do. After getting my luggage onto a cart, I was greeted by the woman at the front desk coldly with, “what can I help you with.” There was no eye contact, no greeting, no warmth and absolutely zero hospitality. I felt about as welcome as a rotting fish. She very obligingly thanked me for being a Diamond member, and told me she was giving me access to the Executive Lounge. She didn’t mention a room upgrade, so I did. I asked if I had been upgraded to a room on the executive lounge floors and she said I had not. I said i just checked and was still being offered 6 different rooms on the executive floor for a paid upgrade and asked why these weren’t available upgrades for me as a Diamond member. She simply reiterated that no upgrades were available. Okay then….(Hilton: Why do you offer upgrades to Diamond members only to so rarely make them available? It becomes a source of real disappointment and creates a negative impression from the start. If you really can’t or don’t choose to offer upgrades to your Diamond members when available then stop telling us you are….it is not smart.) Additionally she failed to explain that the executive lounge closes early on friday and is not opened on weekends. We checked out early, but didn’t know if we were supposed to get an F&B credit or continental breakfast in the restaurant.
The hotel’s common areas and rooms are fairly well appointed and tasteful. The room was a decent size and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was okay, but the shower was not great. They also don’t put a glass or plastic tumbler in the bathroom. This is an annoying trend in the hotel industry and I don’t get it. Doesn’t everyone need a cup or glass in the bathroom when brushing their teeth or taking a pill?
I went up to the executive lounge thursday evening to check it out. Went to have a canned soda, but wanted it on ice, I asked the woman attendant if there was ice there. She said no, but that there was an ice bucket in my room and an ice machine on each floor. okay. again, is that really the response that Hilton or the manager of that hotel thinks is the correct answer?
Overall this was a disappointing stay at a poorly managed hotel. We’ll stay elsewhere next time we are in the vicinity.

A nearby hotel let us down at the last minute for a post wedding evening party. In desperation we called the Hilton Short Hills about 36 hours before the event. Vivian, Jessica and their team put together a fantastic event in The Retreat (hotel's bar) and in such a very short time! The space was truly lovely - exactly what everyone needed to relax. The food was perfect - again exactly the pub food/snacks everyone needed, especially those who didn't get to eat a lot at the wedding reception. The service was also extraordinary - checking in with us as needed to make sure the food was reordered when it was eaten (and eaten and eaten); making cocktails including some special requests and generally making us feel welcome, appreciated and relaxed. Consuelo the bartender coped very well and with grace with a large influx of orders. The bar's flexibility when more guests showed up than anticipated added to the overall wonderful feel of the event. At no point was there stress (how could there be when every need was anticipated?), something we truly appreciated after a busy, high stakes day. Finally we should add that the entire bill (for three hours of constant food and an open bar) was more than reasonable.
The bride and groom were so delighted with the event and had a chance to unwind and socialise in a relaxed, special atmosphere where all their guests felt so welcome.

I was there for a funeral so my family occupied multiple rooms. The overall experience was wonderful. However food and beverage prices were outrageous and it took an hour to get lunch after we ordered on multiple occasions. That part of the service definitely needs improving.

Glad this hotel was able to re open after a long closure. I spent two days here for a close getaway and main purpose to enjoy their beautiful outdoor pool which I am happy to say is still beautiful but only offers food and drinks on the weekend. Not even cold water is available during the week. Briefly here are other comments:
The Retreat: so happy to see our same friendly fabulous server who always smiles and can not do enough for us. Newer servers also very friendly.
Front desk: take some lessons from your associates in the Retreat. Checking in and checking out was cold and unfriendly, Associate checking us out acted like she was annoyed and doing me a favor. Others were Not able to direct me to the pool.
Parking: eighteen dollars to self park in a dark empty garage where I did not feel safe at all. Guest services book in the room stated parking was complimentary so be sure not to be charged.
Room:half empty bottle of wine left in fridge so housekeeping is not on top of details.
As aHilton Honors member no acknowledgement upon check in. No explanation of Honors Lounge, food credits or anything.
This is not the Short Hills Hilton we all remember and other than the Retreat, customer appreciation needs much improvement.

The staff are very nice. The room is nice, and the fitness center is pretty big (both are clean). Food is OK, a little on the greasy side even when you order something that sounds light. Issues for basic work travel: no toner in the business office printer (and a request to change the toner didn’t actually get the toner changed), and wifi access is byzantine (you can’t access internet through Edge; you have to use one of two other browsers) and weak. For a work stay, I’ll miss out on Honors points and add a few minutes to my commute next time.

Hilton Short Hills is very accommodating and all staff very helpful, as well as professional. I found the rooms very comfortable, the staff very pleasant and an overall good experience. The location was good for us, as we were attending an event not extremely far away.
The hotel dining was very good. Slightly pricey, but food was great and if you need to eat nearby, prices not terribly out of line.
Woody was very helpful at check-in and navigated my two room, different day arrival promptly and without error while remaining extremely calm and friendly doing it.
Keesha checked me out on departure and made sure our stay had been good.
Ana, in the restaurant, was extremely friendly and provided great service.
Hotel is not far from many things. We had a few hours to spare each day we were there and found plenty to choose from.

Their breakfast is very good. Not inexpensive but very fresh
No spa. They removed the spa. You can go to Short Hills town (less then a 5m Uber) for spas.
Sorry for the delay in response. The cost to the Summit Train Station is $15
