We have stayed at this hotel lots of times because we have family in Tenafly, NJ. It is well situated in town near restaurants, banks, a very good diner, etc. Over the years this place has become quite run down, although it was still clean, but the signs of age are everywhere: Scuffed furniture, old carpet, and the like and a suspect air-conditioning system that made a noise 24/7 although it was manually turned off. For the last 2 days our room had NO hot water, which is never something you want to see in a hotel. Nothing here that a face lift wouldn't cure, but for some reason they have not sprung for it yet.

The advantage of this hotel is its close proximity to family, but next time we visit the area we will choose a hotel in better condition over location. The Clinton Inn is in need of a total overhaul. Aside from its outdated and fairly drab appearance, there are infrastructure problems. We stayed for three nights and had unreliable hot water. Showers could be tepid throughout or start out hot and end up freezing. Management told us that we were the only people who had complained, but I find it hard to believe that the two rooms my family occupied were the only ones with problems. Further, management obviously knew there was a problem because during two days of our stay there were plumbers parked in their lot. Ultimately, they took $100.00 off our bill, but we are not eager to return.…

Traveled internationally to stay in Tenafly, and the Clinton Inn Hotel never returned my deposit. Does not respond to emails, and I cannot call them internationally. Would not recommend. If you're in Tenafly, stay somewhere else.

Dear 568siy, Thank you for taking the time to share a review of your experience at our hotel. I'm sorry for any confusion regarding your charges. Upon check-in, a credit card is required for room, tax & incidentals; an authorization occurs to be sure funds are available, but the card is not charged. The balance of this authorization is released upon your departure but can take as many as 10 business days or more to show as being refunded to your card. Sometimes, this process can take even longer when dealing with an internationally based bank. I’m sorry that this was not effectively communicated and for any frustration caused. No air conditioning for days. Today it was 91 F outside and the hotel felt hotter, especially our block of rooms which have windows that do not open. One room the toilet and TV did not work. Furniture is sticky

The Clinton Inn is the greatest because of its ease of entry in front and back of hotel. The parking is amazing and we can easily access and even see our car from our hotel room. We love the Tenafly community and have stayed often as our daughter lives on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. The Clinton Inn is the perfect place to stay and to have family gather with us in Tenafly.

What a pleasant stay! The room was a great size. The front desk receptionist was amazing! Super friendly & helpful. No restaurant inside due to Covid but they do have cafes, diner, and restaurant within walking distance. PS: the diner has the most amazing peach mimosas. 😉🍑🥂 I would totally stay here again! 😁

Uh. No. Not beautiful and not a boutique hotel. Way past it’s prime. Needs a major league facelift. Bathroom was awful. Room and beds were clean and comfortable. Quiet room. Very old - like 1960’s decor. Worn furniture and fixtures. Ugly but functional shower. Stayed there because family lives 1 mile away and it was cheap. Lobby public rooms elevators and rooms need total makeover. Anything short of that and it’ll still have old worn out bones.

The Clinton Inn is an older hotel. It's squeaky clean, quiet, and quite charming. The furniture when entering is beautiful cherry wood . It has a piano that the guests are allowed to play. The beds were incredibly comfortable and I left well rested. The rooms have all new windows and are very clean. The location is perfect for a getaway. Some of the greatest restaurants are just a stones throw away. Went to Fontana Tratone- a byob a town away. It may not be a new trendy updated hotel- but it's the perfect little getaway ! At a great price. Can't wait to visit again

The hotel confirms innthe booking confirmation that they have a restaurant. Fact is, the hotelrestaurant closed down some time ago. Our room has not been cleaned nor have towels been replaced. According to the receptionist, they only clean rooms every 2nd night. TV does not work and the Internet is also down. The hotel makesa pretty run down impression with old and unclean carpets.
