The proprietor was super kind and helpful, he gave lots of good suggestions to enhance our stay, the room was perfectly clean and adorable and the price reasonable. It is Only 2 miles from beautiful Sea Girt beach, which has plenty of on street parking nearby. Our stay was fantastic and I plan to return!
Patel was the sweetest man to be greeted by at the front desk. He showed us a few rooms and gave us a good rate and was very accommodating. I've stayed here two times now and this place makes me feel like I'm safe and at home. The rooms are clean, fairly new, nice towels and beds/pillows. I appreciate the mini fridge and table w/chairs in the room.
I booked this hotel as a last minute booking and based upon my family's stay, here are the pros and cons: Pros: - Budget Friendly - Clean Rooms - Close driving proximity to beaches - Parking is always available Cons: - Pool is closed for the 2020 season (we were expecting to use it upon arrival!) - Small room (we had 2 double beds) - Beds are uncomfortable - both my husband and I did not sleep well at all This certainly wasn't my top choice, but other hotel options were nearly $400+/nt so I opted for something more budget friendly - the Sea Girt Lodge.
We have been going to the sea girt lodge for 20 years and have always had very pleasant stays. It was just as pleasant this year as always but after 20 years, it is getting old and in need of some renovations such as new furniture and a bathroom renovation.
My husband and I have stayed here for over 15 years. Last year we noticed quite a few improvements. Rooms were painted as well as exterior. Breakfast room was updated. It seems there are new people managing this year. Customer service is pretty horrible. When I checked in the front desk attendant came from the back room after several minutes of waiting. She was on the phone in her language with the speaker on. She never said one word to me. I was checked in by motions only. It was like I was an inconvenience to her. I went to the breakfast room at 7:15 (breakfast begins at 7.) Same attendant was putting out a total of 5 bagels and 6 mini muffins. Pretty pitiful. The worse was that she was in what she had slept in! Her hair was upside down. Once again myself and another guest were treated as an inconvenience. Wouldn't it be a good idea to set your alarm, take a shower, dress appropriately and greet your guests. My husband went back to breakfast room at 9 am and there was one mini muffin. We went to Dunkin Donuts. The owner needs to know this and needs to address the situation. Completely unexceptional.. Also the ice maker was empty the entire two days we were there. Same attendant told my husband to wait 20 minutes and there would be ice. we waited 2 days! This is a pretty nice place to stay if you're not looking for anything fancy, but this kind of customer service will drag it down quickly. Get it together! We'll probably be back in a couple weeks...hope this is read and addressed by then.…
The room was okay and clean. The ice and microwave were across the parking lot. Breakfast was minimal but okay. Talked to another couple who were also visiting family. The receptionist and was able to answer several of my questions about how to get to places.
We stayed here because there was a wedding we were attending near-by. Staff was okay, but room was extremly small, over priced for October. Room smelled musty, and refrigator made a rather loudy humming noise. No coffee maker or water in room. Included breakfast was slim pickings at 8 am, a few bagels, & dougnuts, cereal & yogart-. For over 250.00, not very pleased.
A mile and a half to the beach. Decently clean and updated room. Owner is very unfriendly overall. The pool is in the middle of the parking lot. It’s a jersey shore motel. You get what you pay for. Good enough. Just hope you have no screaming kids or people having sex — the walls are thin enough that you can hear a person cough.
I would recommend you to stay elsewhere. My friends and I had a horrible time at this "hotel." We wanted to stay down the shore and the reviews seemed decent so we decided to book the Sea Girt Lodge for two nights. Upon arrival ( I was not present), my friends were harassed by the innkeeper who proceeded to scan their licenses and sign next to it to prove it was them. This does not happen at a normal hotel. He was very rude and my friends were treated poorly. This place is bare basics. No beach towels even though you advertise you are close to the beach? This place felt like a prison. The rooms were ok for the price but definitely would spend a few more dollars and stay elsewhere! There are plenty of other places to stay near here that are FAR better! STAY AWAY!
Stayed with my children and friends. Very pleased with hotel Rooms much more spacious than average hotel or motel. Clean, attractive, well lit. Double queen had plenty of room for myself and children. And the manager went out of his way, so courteous and friendly. Very close to area beaches, great shopping and restaurants and a quick ride to jenkinsons for custard. I’ve used another hotel in the area previously but this will be our new go to hotel in the future.
