Two stars instead of one because there were individual employees who were quite nice and I don't want that to get lost in my very critical review. Short version: I will never stay there again and will recommend that my (many) business and personal colleagues/friends avoid it. I've been an Ambassador level member of Bonvoy for years (for those who aren't familiar, that means I spend at least a hundred nights in Marriott properties and tens of thousands of dollars every year). The benefits of this loyalty generally result in various perks, some modest and some more significant. Two that matter to me - one in each of those categories - are: a bottle of water on my arrival and the ability to change the duration of my stay without penalty. Individual properties, though, apparently have discretion as to whether they honor these perks. The Residence Inn Weehawken chooses not to. Bottle of water? Nope. Big deal? Nope. But little things matter (note: eventually, a staff member did offer to break the rules - thank you). I needed to leave a day early so I informed them first thing that morning so they could get the room back and make it available. Skip a charge for early departure? Nope. Full charge. An Ambassador representative called to suggest this was not the smartest way to treat someone who spends literally tens of thousands of dollars with the parent company. Any effect? Nope. Okay, that's your prerogative. Charge me for early departure and collect a couple hundred dollars. But is that the wise long term move? I would suggest it is penny wise and pound foolish. How many future stays by me and my colleagues and my friends just evaporated? I'm not sure if it is three or three hundred, but it is certainly worth a lot more than the one night's stay they banked. I'm sure they have an explanation about rules and restrictions and policies. But business is not all about that; neither is loyalty.…
Great location. Right on the water. Great view of Manhattan without the cost or business. Staff was top notch, very polite. Breakfast buffet great and changed daily. The ferry was steps away. Directly off the ferry is a bus taking you to any of the main attractions. You can also Uber to/from times-square for at little as $30 or up to $70 during peak times. Hotel was clean and modern. A few restaurants, like P.F. Chang’s, and grocery stores within walking distance. Recommend higher floor with view. No complaints and will definitely be back here when visiting nyc.
This was my second time staying at this location and it was still as fabulous as the first time. Beautiful hotel!! BOOK NOW! The NY watertaxi is right across the street so you can take that over to midtown and then they have free shuttles to drop you off around the city. You can't go wrong!
Spacious, clean, modern and comfortable room with easy access to NYC by ferry and quick ride to Newark airport. Next time I need to come to NYC on business I am staying here! Also, super friendly and helpful staff.
During my short stays was a total experiences and was considering any Penny of the pocket. The rate by night is ok, the parking $22.00/night considering is a long term concept hotel was a the situation. But the place look so nice in all areas in and out the property! The best was the personnel. Gabby and Chris supper A++. And also the team member super!
Looking to get a break from the hustle and bustle during my trip to NYC, we decided to stay across the river in Weehawken, NY. While in Weehawken we chose the Residence Inn as our hotel location. What an excellent decision! From the very beginning we were greeted with a friendly smile and great professionalism from Gabi. She ensured that we were well taken care of when she recognized that we were Ambassador members. The hotel was clean with a modern decor and the accessibility to the attached parking deck was an awesome bonus! I would definitely recommend staying at the Residence Inn in Weehawken if looking for a clean, modern and relaxing stay while visiting NYC.

Hotel is located right on the Hudson River and right across the street from the NY Waterways Ferry. Katherine and Gabbi at the front desk were awesome. My wife and I took an impromptu trip to NJ and were allowed us to check in early; and had a room with a fantastic view of NYC skyline and the Hudson. Rooms are very modern with quality appliances and facilities (refrigerator, coffee maker, etc.) Bathroom was spacious with very nice shower and sink. Will definitely stay here again and again. Only 5 - 7 minutes to downtown NYC by Ferry. Can't beat that!!! Location is perfect with nice walkways along the Hudson River. Near nice restaurants as well. Definitely looking forward to staying here again. This hotel is worth every PENNY!!!!
We stayed two nights and it was fantastic. The suites are large and cleaned immaculately. We had a beautiful view of NYC from our window. The ferry is just across the road and less than a ten minute ride to the city. The bus will take you into midtown quite a ways. That’s a big plus!
I stayed here with my husband and son for a long awaited trip to NYC post-pandemic. It was absolutely wonderful! Check in was fast and smooth and the front desk team was kind and polite (Gabriella and Jeremy, I think were their names). The housekeeping staff was also great! I met a wonderful Japanese lady (so sorry I forget her name and I don't want to mess it up). The room was spacious enough for the 3 of us but a little tight with the sofa bed pulled out. It was great to have a fridge and small kitchen. The large bathroom was much appreciated! The water pressure on the shower was amazing after a long day in the city! Wifi is also included and is strong and works great from the room! The breakfast that was included was decent. A handful of hot items but we were good with a quick cereal and fruit or yogurt with juice or coffee. It was enough to tide us over until we got into the city. (There is also a Dunkin Donuts right next door) The best part of this hotel is definitely the proximity to NYC. The ferry is right across the street or like us, we took NJ transit bus from the light rail station right around the corner. The bus takes you right to Port Authority station in about 10mins. We waited at times for the bus to come but my son enjoyed the light rail trains coming and going so we didn't mind. The same bus drops you off at the ferry terminal and I was blown away every night by the views of the city! Speaking of the view, it really is something. Breathtaking during the day or at night! Overall, it was our first time to stay in this area and we will definitely come back! Thank you for making our visit to NYC all the more memorable!…
