This Lodge is about one and half hours from the main trail in the Park. The Lodge facilities are comfortable and clean. Limited menu due to its remote location. We stayed one night which was enough for us. It is a quiet, peaceful location. People were friendly and welcoming. The journey to and from the Lodge is rough terrain so be...

We loved this place, one of the few places one can go and be truly far from cities, noise, constant bombardment from electronic input. We loved the dazzling night sky, sitting for hours just looking at the landscape, listening to the hyenas outside our chalet at night, watching the animals coming to the waterhole. One afternoon a steenbok sat beside...

!Xaus Lodge Luxury Lodge this is not! Not sure how it is graded 4 star by Tourism Grading council. The rooms are very basic with canvas and mosquito nets covering the window holes which on a night of cold howling winds rustled together making a great din, let in the freezing air, and generally kept the occupants awake, which maybe...

We stayed in !Xaus Lodge for 3 nights in August. It is situated miles from anywhere, wonderful open empty spaces. We had 2 rooms: a double and a family room. These rooms sit overlooking a dry salt pan with a small water hole with the occasional animal (hyena, gemsbok, hartebeest, etc.). Being a game lodge there was the usual pattern...

I, not liking safaris, was forced by my husband to go on safari. What a wonderful place that was!!! The setting, the rooms, the staff.... All just perfect! Our safari guide, Andries was motivated, insightful and a lot of fun. We met a lot of wonderful people. Will definitely go back. Thank you so much x

This review has taken some time to write since our stay. I was really looking forward to staying at !xaus and was firmly convinced that this would be a place I would not want to leave. Indeed, I was convinced that by starting with this hotel the rest of my holiday would be spoilt by comparison. Being , in the...

A lodge in the dunes. This lodge is all about the experience and the people of the Kalahari. We did not encounter a wealth of animals, but we did see a sky filled with stars at night, dazzling sunsets, and quiet desert evenings. We had fun walks through the dunes, wildlife drives with amazing red dunes, and tasty food at...

If you are travelling with 2WD you will be pickup at Kwamka picnic area, otherwise with 4WD you can follow the jeep of Xaus. Xaus means heart and the chalets are situated around the pan. Stunning accommodation, no electricity betweem 2200/0700 hours, no Phone, no wifi no nothing, only peace and quietness. The water is saline - brak, when you...

What a venue, very different, 91 dune is absolutely correct, best thrill is to drive yourself in a 4 x 4 over the 90 dunes, 30 Kms, +- 45 minutes, an experience! If you don't have a 4 x 4 or don't fancy the drive, the lodge will arrange parking for your vehicle and ferry you to the lodge. The...

Family chalet at the end of a string of cabins set overlooking a salt pan was perfect for us. Great view. Space for all but children were within talking distance (nice when we needed to explain in the middle of the night that "yes, it is lions you hear outside roaring!") Small pool was enjoyed by kids. Our two guides...
