The most friendly Protea Hotel. The staff is very helpfull and friendly. Nice setting and good location. The dining area feels a bit dated byt the food was amaizing . Being a procard member I always try to stay at a protea hotel, but this one I would stay in again and again even if i am not a member....

During October I took my 82 year old mom for the 4th time to Franschhoek Protea Hotel. Staff - all of them are so friendly and helpful. They give us the same room everytime and that is so wonderful - feels like your own personal bedroom at home. Room and bathroom - very tidy and neat. Lovely swimming pool. Very...

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at the Franschhoek Protea Hotel on Friday 31 October 2014. We had a most comfortable and very clean standard room for 2 with a tasty versatile breakfast the following morning. The staff was friendly, courteous and most helpful especially to my husband who had to rise early that morning before the breakfast session...

Well located hotel on the main road of Franschoek. It has a beautiful pool in center with rooms surrounding it. Rooms are a great size and have all the basic amenities. Unfortunately there were guests that spoke loudly outside rooms which woke us up, so perhaps they need to ask guests to respect others a bit more in the corridors....

The hotel location is great for walking around Franschhoek, a beautiful little town, nestled in the mountains. We were only here for one night, our last is South Africa. We arrived after a private wine tour, which we cut a bit short, in order to have some time to spend in the town while the shops were still open. The...

In easy walking distance to township. Rooms are very spacious, clean and well appointed. Maybe a little dated however everything is very clean and well maintained. Staff were very friendly. Good off street and secure carparking. Our room was on the upper floor which was a direct walk in from the carpark. We overlooked the pool.

We stayed for 2 nights and found the staff to be very friendly and helpful and the service was excellent. The room was very comfortable, spacious and clean...

We didn't realise when we drove from Hermanus to franscchhoek that we would be driving through mountains to get there...the views are truly spectacular and franscchhoek is nestled in the valley...we were greeted by loads of baboons all over the road as we came into town...although we were very early....11am.....our junior suite was ready and we dropped our luggage and...

Admittedly we spent very little time at the hotel, as we were on a bit of a wine drinking razzle, but I found the service to be good, with quick responses when requesting things like laundry collections etc. The hotel itself though is very dated, considering that it has a 4 star rating, and could do with a bit of...
