We spent three wonderful nights at Stony Brook Cottages. It was only meant to be two nights but we extended the booking and I wish we could have stayed longer. The cottages were spotless, the beds and linen so comfortable and the layout of everything was just perfect. My folks had early morning walks on the farm and the scenery...

Great Easter weekend. Super, clean cottages. Big log fireplaces. Braai area. Lovely walks in the estate and beautiful view from the dam. Accommodating and friendly staff. Will be back with lots more wine!!

We stayed at Stony Brook Cottages for 5 very relaxing days. Due to the location of the cottages on a wine farm about 4 kms from Franshoek we could easily escape from the hustle and bustle of the town. It is central enough to explore all the wine tasting and the wine farms and still not be intimidated by the...

This booking did not go off to a smooth start. I reserved through a well known online booking website that did nt want to let me change the dates later on. In the end I did the booking directly. After that it went downhill! I did not get a confirmation from them to say that everything is arranged even though...

First of all, please accept our sincerest apologies for the issues you experienced with your stay at Stony Brook! The owners were lovely, nice complementary wine tasting, rooms were nice, right under the lovely mountains. There was a bit of a problem with water pressure, but remember it is in drought at the moment. However as soon as we mentioned it they were up to fix the problem.

We adored our short stay at Stony Brook Cottages (no 2) - we really would have loved to stay longer than the two nights we had there. The setting is spectacular, surrounded by mountains and vineyards and trees, and you feel right off the beaten track, which to us was wonderful. Peaceful and relaxing. The cottage itself was very comfortable...

We spent two weeks in Stony Brook Cottages, the first week with friends and the second week with family, and loved our time there. The location is wonderful, quiet and peaceful - a family winery located just outside (but within easy reach of) Franschhoek and set just below, and with wonderful views of, the mountains surrounding Franschhoek. The rooms are...

Lucky to have stayed at this romantic self catering accommodation. We were welcomed by the manager and straight away whisked off to a wine tasting to remember. Very educational and the lady who helped us was extremely warm and funny. The rooms were spacious with a nice indoor fireplace. Worth taking a walk to the top dam for spectacular views....

We rented cottage number 5 with 2 couples. Each bedroom has his own bathroom. The cottage is very modern and foreseen of every luxury! Nice outside terrace with Weberbraai. There is a small swimming pool as well. The location is very quite up in to the mountains and close to town.

What a fantastic and romantic location with stunning surrounding mountains and fruit trees. We absolutely loved our stay here and will be back. After many nights in hotels / guest houses and eating out it was really a highlight to have your own braai and relax on the "stoep". The cottage has everything you need and exceeded our expectations. Serious...

“Cottage no 1 has the best views”

“There are only 6 cottages and all the rooms are beautiful. There is a bigger one that 2 couples can share both with en suites...............that is where we stayed and that was divine and also closer to the pool,”

“All cottages much the same as far as view/location goes - ask for the big cottage at the top, for a family.”
CaroMorgan, 4 Jul 2014 | Read review
“Number 3 was great - a small parking area right next to the cottage, and a huge double bed (one of the cottages only has two singles, so ask before booking!), but in general they are all pretty much equally good. Do note: Franschhoek can get very hot in summer, and while a fan was provided, there is no aircon - so if you get hot, this might not be the place for you. All other seasons should be ok, as the temperature drops overnight most nights.”
