We stayed only for ine night so that we can go to the winetram at Frenchhoek. The room is massive and very clean. It is a bit remote so you need to have a car to transfer yourself. Also the restaurants close very early (around 9ish) in the town so you better arrive early for dinner. The breakfast was also...

Thank you for your comments. Somehow, your details are not correct. We never close the breakfasts until 9h30, and if anyone arrives up to 10h00 they still receive breakfast. In every room is a tray, that clearly says COMPLIMENTARY. On that tray, on arrival, you receive home baked biscuits and nougat. Plus 2 free pods (Nespresso) daily, and free tea....

We love to stay in Fransvliet B & B, Franschhoek. A beautiful small scale B & B on a wine-farm nearby Franschhoek. The suites are beautifully decorated and very comfortable, and we enjoy the very friendly, competent and helpful staff. All working together with the owner : Shirley Kilian Guy. Every morning at breakfast we are spoiled by Shirley, who...

My fiancé and I stayed in the guest house for 2 nights in room Cabernet and it was delightful. The mini apartment was well decorated and bed super comfy, with a large bathroom and small kitchenette. There is a small pool to lounge by and the breakfast was very good. Victor helped us organise taxis to dinner both evenings and...

Very relaxing and close enough to town to pop along for an evening meal if required. Shaped in ranch style and you had you own large verandah which was nice to sit out on with a glass of wine in the evening. Bathroom was very large and well appointed. Excellent breakfast consisting of fruit, cereal, continental with a choice of...

We enjoyed our stay very much. Very nice equiped rooms in a magic surrounding. First Class service and excellent breakfast. We would come back for 100 %. Slept very well in the bed. Nothing to complain about. Good price-quality-relationship. The Guesthouse is a good starting point not only to the wine estates, but also to Stellenbosch, Cape Town, Constantia, Wellington...

Its wonderful to hear how much you enjoyed your stay. There are more wine estates out there waiting for your next visit. I am always delighted when people travel to see other sections of the Cape. it really does prove that Fransvliet is well siTUATED. SEE YOU NEXT YEAR.

Notwithstanding the very high quality breakfasts served, start-up of breakfast at 08:00 could be sharper. The room was very good and the products provided were good, however, replenishment of refreshment items (milk, coffee, tea, etc) had to be requested from time to time - room staff need to be a little more observant and proactive, rather than reactive.

Thank you for reviewing Fransvliet. We are always happy to provide breakfast earlier if requested. As to replenishments, as this is a Guest House and not a hotel, we only check the rooms in the morning. My staff advised that you requested a further replenishment in the afternoon. While we have no objection to this, we don't go into the...

Fantastic hotel - perfect rooms and wonderful personell. The owner arranged dinners in the evening which were great. This way we got to know the other guests and the quality of food was good. Breakfasts also superb. The only disadvantage is some disturbance from the nearby road during daytine but no problems during nights.

Fransvliet is a lovely little oasis situated in a vineyard about an hour outside of Cape Town. It is a short jaunt to the Stellenbosch wineries and is very close wineries located in town. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Fransvliet Guest House is a tranquil, luxury retreat, only 4 kilometres from the heart of Franschhoek. It is situated on a working farm, growing grapes, olives and figs. Wake up to the call of the birds and in the evening perhaps hear the resident owls calling as they contemplate the night's hunt. Breathtaking mountain views are all around, each one more spectacular than the last. The individually decorated suites are pure luxury, with absolute attention to detail. Soft wineland colours set the tone for a perfect stay. Breakfast is an occasion, every day. Spend time in the newly renovated 65 year old house, either inside or on the veranda, enjoying the view of the pool and the vineyards. Celebrate "the best meal of the day" with either a Continental or a full breakfast that will include seasonal specials. The sparkling pool is at your disposal for those hot lazy afternoons. Relax in the shade with a magazine and an ice cold drink, before you cool off. Lazy winter days are a treat too. Snuggle up in your suite in a comfy armchair with your own personal fireplace - the perfect way to enjoy one of the local bottles of red wine. Meander through the garden, (both indigenous and other) on your way to your suite. Something special will be flowering at all times. In season, luscious figs will be found on the trees, and the scent of lemons may be in the air too. Take an early morning walk around the farm in December. The vines will be green and laden with fruit. In July, a few burgundy coloured leaves and bare sticks have their own attraction. Soak up the 360° view, especially the powerful Simonsberg mountains. ... more   less
