We stayed at Fransvliet for 3 nights and found the accommodation and service to be excellent. Victor and the rest of the staff were most helpful and hospitable. Shirley Kilian's great conversation and most delicious breakfasts were really special.

Fransvliet is a great, conveniently located place to stay and enjoy the beautiful settings of the house. Everything was perfect - spacious practical room, beautifully furnished and fully equipped with even a nespresso coffee machine as well as capsules. Excellent service, friendly people, quiet atmosphere and good value for money. We loved it, especially the big balcony in front of...

We informed when we suppose to arrive and even so we had to look for somebody to take us to the room. The room was spacious but looked like needs some care. The view was ok. The breakfast was nice with some products from their farm. Really a just average place.

The guest house was beautiful, situated among the mountains in Franshoek among the vineyards. A short drive to the center of town and an even shorter drive to vineyards for great wine tasting. We were so impressed with the breakfast and the staff. Everything was wonderful.

Thank you so much for your generous comments. I am however, a bit sad, that having commented so positively about our service etc that you gave us 4 points for cleanliness and service. We pride ourselves that these 2 points are excellent.

Really enjoyed our stay here. Lovely big room with bathroom, dressing area, kitchen area and lounge area. Very comfy bed and room fairly well soundproofed. Can't believe other people moaned about the road noise, you know it's on a main road when you booked it! You can't hear it from inside the room. The breakfasts really are delicious. Staff very...

Finding the place wasn't difficult and it's just a few minutes outside Franschhoek. My wife and I stayed the night and the room was clean and of good quality in general. The room had a very spacious underfloor heated bathroom which was a wonderful pleasure for my wife and the bed was large and comfortable too with electric blankets. What...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Fransvliet Guest House is a tranquil, luxury retreat, only 4 kilometres from the heart of Franschhoek. It is situated on a working farm, growing grapes, olives and figs. Wake up to the call of the birds and in the evening perhaps hear the resident owls calling as they contemplate the night's hunt. Breathtaking mountain views are all around, each one more spectacular than the last. The individually decorated suites are pure luxury, with absolute attention to detail. Soft wineland colours set the tone for a perfect stay. Breakfast is an occasion, every day. Spend time in the newly renovated 65 year old house, either inside or on the veranda, enjoying the view of the pool and the vineyards. Celebrate "the best meal of the day" with either a Continental or a full breakfast that will include seasonal specials. The sparkling pool is at your disposal for those hot lazy afternoons. Relax in the shade with a magazine and an ice cold drink, before you cool off. Lazy winter days are a treat too. Snuggle up in your suite in a comfy armchair with your own personal fireplace - the perfect way to enjoy one of the local bottles of red wine. Meander through the garden, (both indigenous and other) on your way to your suite. Something special will be flowering at all times. In season, luscious figs will be found on the trees, and the scent of lemons may be in the air too. Take an early morning walk around the farm in December. The vines will be green and laden with fruit. In July, a few burgundy coloured leaves and bare sticks have their own attraction. Soak up the 360° view, especially the powerful Simonsberg mountains. ... more   less
