We were treated like royalty. The owners and staff were very friendly and very helpful. We will definitely make use of them again. The breakfast was very good. We hope to be back next year with our family reunion.

Welcomed by friendly hostess and staff made us feel welcome immediately. Rooms catered for all our needs. If i could make one suggestion it would be to put fridge in room. Loved the garden and safe parking. Room were spacious and kept clean with enough space to put everything. Our towels were unfortunately super hard and uncomfortable to dry with. The gardens are beautifully kept and pool looked inviting. Their restaurant were however closed during our stay which i think is important to mention when booking

Good day and greetings! Thank you very much for your stay with us and your valued feedback, which is much appreciated. Thank you for your inputs. All our guests do have access to a guest kitchen in the garden, with a big fridge. There are containers for each one’s belongings as well as drinks and ice for the guest's convenience. At home, most guests have the fridge in the kitchen and not in the bedroom, although we’ve upgraded our garden lofts with fridges. I’m very sorry, that your towels were a bit hard. We do apologize. We’re an eco-friendly guest house and all our towels are sun-dried. It is always difficult to find exactly the right point when a towel is dry and not hard. If anyone has a good idea, to solve this problem, please let me know. In your case, you really did put up your green thumb that day. Thank you for that. With every booking confirmation we do inform our guests as follows in terms of dinner: We do recommend the restaurant Four Cousins in town. We do offer a delectable platter, with charcuterie and local cheeses, bread, and butter @ R 250 serves 2. Do you want to cater for yourself? At GuBas De Hoek all guests enjoy access to a separate, well-equipped guest kitchen in the garden. We are really pleased that you enjoyed our beautiful garden and the dedicated team, which makes it so special. Thank you for your review, the input, and the wonderful compliments. We hope to welcome you back soon. Kind regards Balbina and the dedicated GUBAS DE HOEK meet eat sleep team.

The room we stayed on was very close to the road, so we could not sleep properly. There is also no entry to the kitchen from the room, you have to go outside to get to the kitchen. Will not recommend staying in this specific room. The breakfast we had was good value for money. There was a misunderstanding though between us and the owner about the Sunday breakfast and she refused to make an exception and still charged us even though we did not have the breakfast.

Good day and greetings. Thank you very much for your stay with us and your valued feedback, which is much appreciated. You were offered different options when you made the booking. The comfort room 2 Adults, room only @ R 1020 or a garden loft 2 Adults Bed & Breakfast @ R 1350 incl full breakfast. On arrival I showed you the property with the available different room options. You decided to go for the honeymoon room, which is a very nice big room with a bed 2 x 2.20 an open bathroom and direct access from White Street. You husband decided to change the rate from room only to bed & breakfast 2 Adults @ R 1120 per night, which is really very good value for money, as you confirmed. This was clearly stated on the check in form. It is right, that all our guests do have access to the fully equipped guest kitchen in the garden. Yes, we’re located in the residential part of Robertson and all our guests arriving by car and some others are passing by. The next morning, I did offer you the garden loft again, but you decided to stay in your room. You mentioned joining a wedding. I’m a bit astonished to hear, that you were unhappy about your own choice. We do prepare and serve our breakfast individually for every guest. If the breakfast is cancelled the night before, we do refund R 50 per person, if it is not cancelled, like in your case, it is the guest’s choice to take it or not. I hope, this makes it clear for our future guests. Thank you for your review and your stay with us. Kind regards Balbina and the dedicated GUBAS DE HOEK meet eat sleep team.

Except for the very "demanding" parking space we had an excellent stay at your place - fine rooms, high quality furniture in the dining and lounge areas, very fine decorations and paintings and well-trained staff. Maybe you can attend to the painting off and the prominent marking of all the poles in your covered parking area.

Had a (too) short one night stayover at Gubas de Hoek and was blown away by the hosts' hospitality. We were made to feel so at home. the room was spotless and very spacious, lovely shower pressure and fully equipped for all your needs. We were also treated to a scrumptious breakfast the following morning outside at the pool area. We will be back...it was a treat!
