Amazing! I was rather skeptical when I made the reservation. It all looked and sounded great, but usually the write-up and photos are a lot more impressive than the actual facility. Ocean View Dive Resort was even better than the write-up and photos! The rooms are very large and comfortable, with huge bathroom and private patios overlooking meticulously landscaped and mainained grounds. Every one of the staff were exceedingly friendly and helpful. I expected the diving to be nearby, but was not expecting to walk 150', enter the water, swim 5 minutes, and be diving on the USS Liberty shipwreck. Other dive sites, including the really nice Boga Wreck, were only a few minutes in the courtesy shuttle. My personal guide was super friendly and knowledgable, pointing out an amazing array of fish, corals, etc. that I would never have seen without his experienced, keen eye. At checkout I was expecting a lot of hidden charges for little extras here and there. Surprise again, there were none! I couldn't have been happier with my experience. We stayed at Ocean View Tulamben December 3rd and 4th 2022. The resort looked good, 2 nice pools to enjoy and the rooms looked okay until problems started. First day there was no hot water and the tv wasn’t working, we informed the staff at the reception and said that both issues would be resolved in an hour. We went out to eat while we waited for the staff to fix the hot water, when we came back there was still not hot water and the tv wasn’t fixed. We again informed the staff and all they had to say was “Sorry”. But not a sorry we will fix it, and we continued with no hot water or TV. Next day we went diving, we came back around 3 pm and the room wasn’t clean and still no hot water. We again mentioned politely to the staff and they offered to change us rooms. The next room had the same issues, they said they will fix it but never did. HORRIBLE SERVICE, this is coming from a person that works in the hospitality industry. Besides all this issues that were ignored in our faces, the restaurant also was a disappointment, they forgot our breakfast while there was no other guests waiting and all the staff was just sitting in the kitchen, again “Sorry” but I guess they were not sorry at all. On our last day, when we came back from diving, we found toiletries in our bathroom that didn’t belong to us, this was very alarming because it could only mean that somebody had entered our room and took a shower. We went straight to the reception all we got was a “sorry” and here is your bill. For me this is a safety issue that should have been dealt with seriously. If you decide to stay here, be aware that even if the hotel amenities are decent and the location too, you will not receive any help from the staff, they do not care about your experience let along your safety.…

Dear Hotel Management, Please be aware with this person. They are very demanding costumer and mostly create a problem and complaint to get free room. Yes, the hot water was not worked properly at the first night. Hot water only work for about 10 minute then need sometime to wait to get another hot water. We cannot fixed it immediately because our maintenance is freelance company which is out of contact in the night. TV was not working at all but some channel are blocked due to billing expired but she keep saying TV doesn't work at all. And start keep saying everything was not working. Then next day she start to create all the problem as mentioned in their bad comment above. Hope we never had a guest like this in the future time.

Very good place, very nice employee, rooms are ok, and close to the pools, the high pool was awesome, and dive center is just in the hotel. The food was ok with quite choices. Easy to find and park, access to the beach is easy and wreck is walking distance if you want to snorkel

This resort is a diamond in the rough. Everything from the driver collecting us from the airport to the staff waiting for us to arrive in the early hours of the morning was seamless. We had a standard ocean view room which was massive! My friend and I were able to put everything away with an enormous amount of storage and hanging space. The breakfast could do with more choices (sorry guys) but that’s my only gripe. We spent 8 days diving with Ratok and Olly who were just the best, it’s not the first time we’ve dived with these guys, and it certainly won’t be the last. Nothing is any trouble, they helped us get some groceries and took us to watch the sunset in Amed (a must do) Shout out to Komang (the manager) who helped us with daily massages and the staff who are incredible! Can’t wait until April when we return!…

Stayed a week at Ocean View Dive Resort while diving in Tulamben area. We were very impressed with the resort. We had room 01 which was very private, well equiped, had great aircon and close to restaurant and pool. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and all tried to please. Unfortunately my wife was under the weather with a bad cold, the women in the restaurant were very attentive and kind. Our experience in the restaurant, both food and service was great. We enjoyed excellent massages from the in-house staff. Totally recommend. For us the quality of a resort is all about the quality of the staff. Can’t fault Ocean View in that respect. Next time we dive in Tulamben we will certainly stay again.

Had a great room, clean and spacious. Staff were great and made the stay very enjoyable. Dive shop was fantastic and the shortest walk to the Liberty dive site. Would definately stay again next time. 5 out of 5 stars.

This was now our fourth time to the pebble beached sleepy town of Tulamben. As per usual we travel with two growing boys (now 6 & 4) and this time around we dragged their Auntie all for the ride. Our previous 3 trips we stayed at Scuba Seraya and we highly recommend that resort, but we thought we would try something new and stay in town and close to the wreck. After lots of review trawling I ended up at Ocean View Tulamben or OVT from now on. There are tons of good reviews for Liberty Dive Resort and I'm sure it's great BUT they are up the road from the "beach" immediately behind OVT and personally I like staying where I can actually see the sea. Yes the view is restricted from the resort restaurant but at least there is a direct view and you are literally on the rocks. We stayed in the more budget rooms at the top end of the resort in front of the top pool. The rooms are HUGE and clean. And even have a bath all for a bargain price of USD52 per night!! The AC worked great and the staff are helpful. The bungalows down below are really pretty and If I were travelling sans kids I would definitely go for the. BUT when you need 2 rooms the extra cost was a tad much. The bottom pool and restaurant area are really pretty. And we ended up spending much of our time down here. The younger one loved the shallow plunge pool at the bottom. Food at the restaurant was on the whole not bad, some meals definitely better than others. With two very busy kids with dietary restrictions we really do not bother exploring for food! We get the kitchen staff accustomed to what we need and then just stick to it. To their credit the kitchen staff we very accommodating! The only real issue was that they had an extremely limited booze selection!! My wife loves a cocktail to celebrate the sunset but they basically had nothing!! They did have cold Bintang's so I was fine! :wink: One of the main reasons for staying in Tulamben was so that I could take my eldest out snorkeling to the wreck. And man did he love it!! He is so comfortable in the water, a true fish! The wreck is a 50m walk down the rocky beach and then about 100m swim out. On to the diving. Firstly the dive team at OVT are extremely easy going and at your service, we dived when we wanted, how we wanted. We had our own guide and often two of them! They were good spotters, but possibly a tad enthusiastic with the critters and I needed to dial him down a little. You travel out to the dive sites by truck and then either kit up on the rocks and stumble in or they will bring your gear into the water and you can kit up in the shallows...still stumbling around! So this brings me back to my initial question "To back roll or to stumble?". I can honestly say that next time I will likely head back to Scuba Seraya! The hassle of stumbling over those rocks and in the shallows gets old quick!! At Seraya you cruise up to the dive spot and just back roll from the boat! Much more civilized! All in all we had a good time here and would happily recommend it.…

Bottom Line: The place was just ok. You can probably do better in Tulamben. Left feeling I will not stay there again. The good: large room, big windows, comfortable bed, cold air conditioning, nice pool The bad: Cleanliness. Bathroom was filthy, but they were quick to clean it once it was pointed out. The buildings and grounds needed maintenance (questionable electrical wiring, bricks falling off buildings, rusty sharp steel next to pool). TV was always on in the restaurant. The staff was hanging out all over the property looking at their phones.

This was our 4th stay at Oceanview, and again it was absolutely great. Over the past 4 trips Oceanview has become better and better. The staff are very pleasant, helpful and will bend over backwards to provide you with the best time and service. The rooms are spacious clean and quite well maintained, food is very good and tasty with nice sized portions. The dive center is well established and very professional. Will be back in 2020
