Friendly staff but if you are a foreigner expect to be charged double price and in US. This is a 40 dollar a night hotel charging 110 . Not much to here other than visit a massive market. More banks than restuarants, hmmmm.

The Strand is possibly in the best location in town but it is structurally terrible. The L- shaped hotel overlooks the river but it is only the CORRIDOR that faces the water - the rooms look out the back over a dirty town centre. To make things worse the corridor is not air conditioned so seeing the sunset from there...

I stayed at this hotel for 02 nights, and had the chance to view the sun set from the room and near the river bank. There are also flocks of sea gull flying around this river in the evening, many people are there from 1700 to 1800 hours.

This Hotel is super old and the worst part of it, it is dirty, the sheets in the bed, the towels, all dirty, water limited or does not work at all, but there are not many choices if you stay here. The food is lousy, breakfast as well as dinner. And nobody speaks english, the standard answer is always yes...

The town is not often visited by tourists, therefore the hotel was nearly empty. The stuff was very friendly and the room quite simple and clean. Why the architect of that building oriented the rooms to the noisy street and the corridors to the riverside - the beautiful side, is only known by Buddha. Our guide recommended to have dinner...

As it was the number 1 rated we booked to explore Mawlamyaing. As we arrived the room was not prepared. There was water leaking & with a puddle inside. When I complained the reception took no notice. The manager said we will clean it. Only 3 plugs scattered. So charging your mobiles & camera took so long. We booked a...

Located over looking the Sittaung River, the Mawlamyaing Strand is the best hotel in town. Sadly, there is a corridor outside the rooms that overlooks the river, but the rooms themselves face backwards away from the water. The rooms are clean and have all the requisite amenities - a nice shower, TV, free wifi, attractive bedcovers, toiletries, a hair dryer...

The hotel is quite big, but with very friendly staff, who can speak English. It is true that the rooms face the wrong side (not towards the river), but who is in the room, during the day... The rooms are clean, nice, big with modern bathroom and a good quality bed. They have safe, minibar, hairdryer. The breakfast is okay,...

Hotel has very nice river view and make you feel fresh when you wake up in the morning and open your front door. Staffs are not very friendly and like the faces of the teachers.Buffet breakfast was so great and has many choices. Omelette is my favorite one. For the dinner, you can find restaurants near hotel. Everything is completed...

This is probably one of, if not the, best hotels in Mawlamyaing. It was quite expensive and not good value for money. The rooms are big, sparse and strangely, at the back of the hotel with views over the carpark and the local bank rather than looking over the very impressive river. After we had a walk round the town...
