Don is a wonderful guide. He is laid back and gives great tidbits about the geography etc and was able to answer all of our questions about the area, flora, fauna, history. He prepared novice riders for all the dos and don'ts for basic riding etiquette, and his horses are lovely, sure-footed, and tolerant of novice riders. We highly recommend...

My teenage stepdaughter was in town and she loves horses and riding. I did a search for a horse-riding experience that was outside of Albuquerque and found Cedar Crest Country Cottage and Stables. Donald (Owner / Guide) was amazing.. He made sure that my stepdaughter was engaged and enjoying herself. Even before we got started he took the time to...

Camping area is parking area for cottage, had open electric hook up, water was over 100 feet away with hose crossing parking area of cottage, rate was increased from what was quoted over the phone. Pens not as stated and had open metal that cut one horse. Owner has a short fuse.

Again I have visited Cedar Crest Country Cottage and love it as much as before. This time snow was on the hilltops although the roads were clear and easily driveable. The location is perfect, and it was simple to visit Albuquerque and Madrid. The proprietors, Donald and Annette Romero, are extremely welcoming and very conscientious. This is an excellent place...

I took 3 nieces and my daughter (ages 8-12) on a one hour ride. The girls were all basically beginners. Donald (owner/guide) did a great job with the girls. The ride was fabulous for $30 per person plus tax and tip. It was an all-around good experience and I recommend it for a fun horseback riding experience. This is my...

My 8 year old son and I spent the night at the Cottage and went horseback riding the following morning. Donald and his wife were responsive and helpful with our schedule. The Cottage is very clean and comfortable with a beautiful view. My son loved seeing all the horses, dogs and cats at the ranch. We got food at the...

Th.is is the fourth year I have been staying at Cedar Crest Stables and I love it. The Cottage is well furnished, very clean, and comfortable. It has a deck from which you can see the most beautiful dawns in the morning or stars at night. The trail rides are fun AND educational. Donald Romero makes a point of giving...

I and my wife booked this cottage for the last weekend. But because of a few negative reviews we were really sceptical . We were expecting the worst. But believe me we were in for a surprise. Donald is hilarious from the moment you meet him. you just can't stop laughing at his jokes . and the best part is...

We stayed here for two weeks while we were in the process of selling our house. The experience was terrible. The cottage was really a joke; it's a single wide trailer that sits on a slope, so when you sleep all the blood rushes to your head. The bed were uncomfortable and definitely not big enough for two, we ended...

The trail ride was a great experience thru very scenic country. It was challenging but doable with Don's expert guidance for novices. He kept us entertained with jokes and history of the local area. He was very personable and fun. I highly recommend Cedar Crest.
