The elkhorn lodge was the perfect place to retire after a long night on the road! One of the best places I've stayed at thus far in the gorgeous mountains of New Mexico! The beds are beyond comfortable, warm, the cabin is clean, and it is along the Rio Chama river where you can enjoy a bonfire at your pleasure....

I have been staying at Elkhorn Lodge since July 2014. Linda and Albert had recently assumed ownership and management May 2014. Every time I visit I am amazed at the renovations and improvements. During my most recent stay I was in a remodeled room with a new king bed. Very comfortable and immaculately clean. It is a lovely property on...

Over priced and under maintained. Our door would hardly lock. The place has seen much better days and dates from the 50s. The owners / care takers are nice but need to work on the place or charge less or something else. It was only just adequate lodging for the night. We were ready to leave in when daylight came.

Sorry you did not enjoy your stay at the Elkhorn Lodge, Chama. Yes, this lodge does date back to the 50s and as such does not have the bells and whistles that you might find at a more modern accommodation. But our rooms are clean and they are maintained so that everyone enjoys their visit. Thanks for taking the time...

The cabin was rustic, of adequate size, comfortable, and reasonable. The owners were friendly and helpful. There was a family owned restaurant adjacent to the property and the food was good and reasonable. We ate dinner and breakfast.p we walked along the Chama river, but the trail was somewhat short, maybe 100 yards. We saw three deer on the property.

Glad you enjoyed your stay. Just so you know the trail along the Chama river continues for a few miles to the south. Right now we have 8 turkeys living on the property. It is a real treat to see them wondering around the grounds. I hope you will visit us again. Thank you for your review. Linda

A comfortable bed in a sweet log cabin by a river after a long day on the road. The owners were friendly and kind and the place exuded the owner's love for it. Two women were sitting peacefully on the front porch of their cabin when I arrived enjoying soft conversation and gentle laughter. The next getting morning, instead of...

We were in Room #17 in one of the log cabin motel rooms. It was a nice, basic room with nice knotty pine paneling. We had 2 queen beds with cute Southwestern comforters. It was a cold night so we turned on the old style wall heater and the room was warm in a short time. The bathroom was clean;...

We loved this cozy Lodge. The owners were incredible we could not stay an extra night because they were booked but did give us a late check out so we could hike in the morning. Our room was next to hot tub which was great! We were close to the Elkhorn restaurant so we could walk there for dinner and...

I stayed in this lodge with my parents long, long ago. Our room was clean and spacious. We were in the motel section. The TV channels did not work well, nor did the wifi. That being said, we happily did without them anyway. The lodge is on the Chama river. There is a beautiful path along the river on Lodge...
