When my children were small we used to come and enjoy a nice stay here. They grew up and we didn't come back as life goes on. My husband and I decided on a spur of the moment trip and decided to stay just for nostalgic reasons. The cabin is the same as before back many years. No updates to... More

Wife and myself wanted to escape the heat for the Labor Day weekend. Tall Timbers was good place to just chill out at. Good size cabin with king size bed. Only bad thing was the bed was old and hard and cabin was like going to grandmas for the weekend hand made drapes in the bathroom. Will stay again it's... More

We have a family reunion every august in Cloudcroft. I myself live in Ruidoso, but was going to stay in Clodcroft with my folks for the reunion. My mom ( who is 74, and a saint) had called and made a reservation thinking it was a different place across from the reunion hall. When my elderly parents arrived at the... More

We are sorry that there was a misunderstanding, but what transpired with your parents was not what you posted in your review. The interaction ended with an apology from your parents to us. There was never any foul language from anyone. More

We had planned to drive through to White Sands but a rainstorm intervened. At dusk we were looking for a cozy and affordable place for the night. We expected to shop around, but at the recommendation of a waitress we tried this place and fell in love. The owner was friendly and down-to-earth; the clean, rustic little cabins are adorably... My husband and I needed a break from the blisteringly hot weather in the city, so we made a reservation for a couple of nights at the Tall Timber Cabins. The drive up 82 into the mountains of Cloudcroft was absolutely beautiful and by the time we reached the cabins in the forest, the temperature had dropped about 20 or... More

location and cabin were good, but once dinner time came around the owners kept coming over to tell us our guests had to leave. my husband ran into his coworker and his family in town as well as a friend who was staying at another campsite and told them to come over to eat and then we could all go... We had a wonderfully restful time at the Tall TImber Cabins. True, our cabin itself was a bit dated, but the location more than made up for that aspect. Unlike some of the other Cloudcroft accommodations which featured cabins very close in proximity to each other and near a well-travelled highway, Tall Timber Cabins was located in a sparsely inhabited... We came here for Thanksgiving week and had a great time. No, the cabin is not top of the line and the decoration is a little out of date but that is not what we traveled 12 hours to New Mexico for. We went for the surroundings and nature that were wonderful. Tall Timbers is not right off the main... More

If you are expecting a great get away in the mountains without a lot of fancy stuff, this is it. Although the interior is dated, we were warm, comfortable, and felt at peace in the mountain getaway. It is a great value and we will look forward to going back.

We booked four nights and brought our children to Cloudcroft to play in the snow. They have never seen snow before. The manager should have been my first clue that this was going to be unpleasant. He was very abrubt and unfriendly. We were assigned the cabin (a duplex) next to the office. The decor is very 1970s but we... More
