It isn't fancy, perhaps even a little scruffy, but it had everything I needed, was clean, quiet and felt safe. Parking lot was very well lit. I thought it was a great bargain -- until I tried to use the bed. I had room #4 with a king bed. That mattress was cheap and hard even when it was new....

I wish that I could rate this room higher. It is an old fashioned, independently run place, and the owner is very friendly. The decor is 1950's knotty pine. Unfortunately the beds are also 1950 vintage, with coil springs that can be easily felt poking through the top of the mattress, making for an uncomfortable night. The place was also...

This was my ideal of an American Motel. Bed was comfortable, room clean and very "Western" , proprietor friendly and helpful, and a couple of classic pick-up trucks parked up outside. I had a good night's sleep, a refreshing shower, and a cracking breakfast at the Dariland restaurant (1304 Sumner Ave), west along the road before a Billy the Kid...

I do not wish to be unkind, but I do wish to be helpful. My husband and I booked a room at this vintage motel based on the great reviews AND the very low price. The combination of great value and what promised to be a great stay, based on the reviews seemed like a no brainer. But, I feel...

I absolutely love this place! The Coronado Motel in Fort Sumner, New Mexico is approximately midway between Austin & Crested Butte. Built around 1948-49, it's a little rundown but heavy on the charm. This is my 3rd year staying here, the owner Tito gives a repeat discount at $30 for a single occupant.

The title says it all. The motel is old as the hills, but the very kind proprietor stayed up late for us to arrive and had the room cool when we walked in. A non-smoking room without a hint of odour. The bed was good for me, a little hard for my wife. The room was clean. The fixtures were...

We love staying in old vintage motels this motel however was not on the top of our list. The manager seemed very friendly and very helpful we were very excited to see our room. The room was what you would expect from an older motel. What we did not expect was the VERY hard uncomfortable beds. You could feel every...

Tried at two other motels, one full up and the other over $80 per night. Then came to this little out of the way place on HwY 60 near the edge of town. Very sweet man runs the place. We got a large room with Wifi, TV, microwave and frig for just over $40 with tax. Quiet place and the...

On a road trip from Austin, Texas to Las Vegas, Nevada, we knew we would need a place to sleep but that choices would be limited on the long stretches of highway and desert. Looking at the map while we were in Lubbock, Ft. Sumner looked like a good stopping point. Next step was to check tripadvisor. Ding! Not many...
