This hotel was nearly brand new. It was clean, well appointed, and the staff was great and spoke to us each time we met. The free hot breakfast was loaded with a variety of options including eggs, sausage, Belgian waffles & fruit. A great stay, just off the interstate on historic Route 66!
Located on the far east side. Nicely priced. Spotless rooms and lobby. Breakfast was blah...but aren't all hotel breakfasts? Great value! No train noise...heck, I didn't even hear any other customers all night. Good customer service.
The Fairfield is newer in the area so all very good. Parking is limited for view from the room or the front desk entry being mostly toward the street on what is to the side of the front entry and there is some on the other side away from the street, but there was a room available on the second floor overlooking where the vehicle was parked. In Gallup I-40 and the railroad run through the area so there is periodic noticeable noises, but does not affect sleep in general. The breakfast was quite nice. The staff was quite nice. There was a couple with dogs up at 4:30AM parked just below and servicing the dogs in the grass across the drive way area with a few barking noises. They went back in and eventually departed about 5:30AM. Breakfast was about 6:30AM I believe. The hotel is generally away from the main business areas of Gallup.
We stay at a lot of Fairfield Inns (we're Gold Elite Marriott members) they're usually pretty nice but this location upped the awesomeness a notch! Before we even arrived I got an email from from the front desk telling me they were looking forward to our stay and to let them know if we had any requests.
I don't remember the name of the guy that checked us in but he was super helpful and friendly (he was the assistant manager). We were told our request for a suite had been granted and given a welcome gift of bottled water and snacks.
Our suite had as massive with two queen beds and a very large seating area with a couch, easy chairs and a desk. I'd say the suite was at least 600 square feet. I was also happy to see they had a Keurig coffee maker in the room.
Breakfast was fantastic, I usually stay away from make your own waffles but they had strawberries and real whipped cream plus eggs, meat etc. They even had gluten free bagels for my celiac suffering daughter.
This was my 1st stay at this fine hotel. Service was impeccable. I will be back on my next trip through here. Very nice large quiet room. the shower was wonderful. The wi-fi was fast and excellent as was my breakfast.
