I had planned to drive and mountain bike to explore the area but decided to stay, wake up whenever, enjoy the unobstructed view across the creek, watch the humming birds, the afternoon storm that moved in and changed the dry...

We stayed at the Las Palomas Guesthouse between April-06 and April-09 2016. There were three adults in our party. Everything about the guest house was as advertised and discussed with our hosts. Upon our arrival the hosts were friendly and helpful. The hot tub was a great spot for stargazing in the New Mexico night sky and it overlooks Bear...

If you want a peaceful setting with gorgeous scenery then this is the place! Add to that your own adobe home with a great kitchen and loads of provisions and it feels like home immediately. Then the icing on the cake... your own private hot tub!! Wild bird feeders and the night sky full of stars and you'll hate to...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
86 acres on Bear Creek, full, private guesthouse w/hot tub, Wi-Fi, DISH TV/HBO/SHO+, Tempurpedic top bed, ORGANIC breakfast fixin's in a well appointed kitchen. Dog friendly, eco-friendly, Endless POOL+ prof. massage/spa treatments available. Vacation destination. Las Palomas Guesthouse is a peaceful, private guesthouse, built for our family and friends, now shared with new friends as our guests. We are eco-friendly (solar panels feed the grid). We are also dog friendly, if their owners are responsible and well behaved. Make yourselves right at home! Mi casita es tu casita! Blue sky in the day, dark sky at night with millions of stars (sitting the the hot tub is a good place to spot meteor showers). The kitchen is a full, cook's kitchen. We provide ORGANIC breakfast foods when we can, including eggs, milk, bread, cereal, yogurt, oatmeal, coffee, teas galore, butter, jam, mustard, mayonnaise, catsup, oil, vinegar, sugar, and more spices than you could shake a spatula at. That bit of baking soda and few tablespoons of flour are there too, most likely. There is an outside table for meals and a barbecue (we supply charcoal briquettes to start you off). You will find fire starting fluid, matches, grill utensils, aluminum foil, cling wrap, ice trays, tissues, kitchen towel, paper and cloth napkins. Bring on the steaks! Barbecue using some mesquite sticks for the real west flavor. Supermarkets (Albertsons, WalMart, etc.) are in Silver City, 25 or so miles away, or even farther afield. We are a frontier community and we learn to keep our pantries stocked and our gas tanks full. Give us a call and we'll see if we can book you in! We now also accept most major credit cards. And we're on BnB. ... more   less
