Recently stayed on a stay-cation with my wife. Let's just say that I was a little suspicious of the excellent reviews I saw on Tripadvisor, but booked anyway. Well, the reviews are right- this place is amazing. The Ponderosa room was homey and clean and spacious and warm. Big windows and high ceiling, with radiant heat floors to keep things...

When I looked online for accomodations in Jemez Springs, I was hoping to find something better than the dismal offerings in the town itself. And I did. The minute I saw the photo and the location of Elk Mountain Lodge, I wanted to stay there. and when I saw a photo of the Aspen suite, there was no question I...

My husband and I planned a semi-local getaway from Albuquerque over New Year's Day weekend and booked a room at Elk Mountain Lodge. The lodge is located just off of highway 4 driving through the Jemez mountains, but we didn't notice any traffic noise from the near-by roadways at all. Our room was beautifully appointed, with a comfy king bed,...

My party of two stayed at the Elk, Mt. Lodge on December 17, 2014. We had been very wary of the potential for bad weather and, sure enough, as we approached the Lodge toward dusk light snow began to fall and about 2-3 inches were on the ground by the time we arrived. But, not to worry, the hosts Garth...

We (three couples on a two week motorcycle trip through New Mexico) stayed there for one night before going on to Taos. Without a doubt we all wished we could have spent more time there. Terry, Garth and Robin all went out of their way to make sure we had a pleasant and enjoyable stay. The rooms were all spacious,...

This lodge was beautiful and very comfortable. The owners, Garth and Robin, went above and beyond to make it an enjoyable time for us this past weekend. They serve a delicious breakfast and everyone was right, the breakfast burrito is the best. When we had to leave early yesterday, they made us goody bags to munch on for our trip...

Great place to stay, great company, great food (one of the greatest breakfast burritos made), great air, great pets. Can't say enough nice about this place. The owners are friendly and rather quiet, you can tell why they chose to run a business here. The air is crisp, there are maybe 100 people living within a square mile, and thats...

What a splendid and serendipitous find for my wife and me. We hiked to McCauley’s Hot Spring in mid-October 2014. The trailhead is between Jemez Springs, NM and the Elk Mountain Lodge, so the lodge was very conveniently located for any activities in Jemez Springs or the Jemez Valley. It was a restful and pleasant overnight. The lodge is situated...
