We had told the lady who answered the phone that we would check in around 2 pm, but when we got there, there was a sign that the office was closed till 6 pm. It turned out that we never saw the lady, but the man had an appointment in Albuquerque at the VA and wasn't back until around 6...

Stayed here for one night whilst travelling through New Mexico. Location suited me as I'd been to the VLA down the road. Motel is right next to the roadside, though it wasn't a very busy road. Room was large, basic and probably best described as rustic. I wouldn't have expected a luxury hotel in this location though. It had everything...

The rooms were big and clean. There is a lot to do around there. What we liked was that it wasn't commercial there were lots of old gold and silver mines to explore, rock hounding was great. Just lots of places to explore also the large array, watching outer space there is also an optical telescope on top of Baldy...

Your hunting or ATV buddies might be happy here. Your fussy spouse, probably not. I paid $55/night. They make an honest effort to provide a decent night's stay. Fridge & shower worked fine. Mattress was very mushy/soft. The old-school pine walls are kind of cool. WiFi worked very well. Flies kept getting into my room, from a hole somewhere, I...

This motel is a great spot for a base camp for central NM. Rooms and bedding are clean and there is plenty to do in the area. Amenities are a bit sparse but with so much to do and see in the surrounding area (VLA, old mines, & ghost towns) didn't have time to lounge around in the room. Owners...

Clean, knotty pine paneled room with old furnishings, cable TV, fridge, microwave. small shower stall. WiFi. Nice courtyard with table and chairs. Walking distance to Magdalena Café, (best restaurant), or M and M café in Magdalena Hotel, (fresh but not fast). Demaris, the proprietress is friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. If you are spending the night in Magdalena, especially if you...

This is as authentic as it gets! Just what I expected to find in the sleepy little town of Magdelena.. Clean, cozy, & great owners! The price was great. 2 QUEEN beds non-smoking with a great view of the mts. The chickens went to bed at 9pm & the rooster was up at 5am. When traveling out West, this is...

The owners are friendly and knowledgeable. We spent the first night at the other motel, decided to give this one a try. That was the best choice we have made during this hunting trip. Rooms are much more larger, cleaner, with a warm setting. I recommend this to anyone passing through Magdalena.

I stayed here because I was on a hunting trip with my dog and another hunter. The hotel sits right on the main drag in town. I would pretty much have to repeat what the other reviewers said about it. The room was comfortable enough for a night's stay and surprisingly; the traffic noised wasn't too bad. Everything worked in...

My daughter and I spent a night at the Western Motel during a late hunting trip. The price was right--a good value for two beds. The manager was friendly and helpful, though a little scatterbrained. The bedding was clean and comfortable. Another reviewer was correct: The carpet is probably due for a change (don't look under the beds). The heater...
