It may be in a rough neighborhood with the substandard mobile home park located directly behind it housing some of the most unsavory residents I have ever known and I have lived in some pretty ghetto places (such as E.Colfax in Aurora Colorado). The staff here completely makes this establishment feel homey and safe so don't count it out. A...

How you feel about this property will probably depend on what your expectations are. It is an old motel that really could use a lot of maintenance. Yes, it looks pretty run down, but it is also $40 a night, which is much less than I usually pay for a room. It was clean and the wifi worked very well....

This has to be in my top 10 bad hotels in my life. Pulled in Raton around 11 PM and looking for an economy hotel. My budget was less than $100 per night. I saw the sign saying $45 a night so I took a chance. The people hanging around outside their rooms looked like they were just steps from...

Totally gross. Comforter had stains and burn holes. (But the bed was comfortable.) No soap in the shower, with layers of dust on the holder. Tiny, fuzzy TV. Curtains had holes so the sun shone thru. I would be afraid to walk on the carpet without slippers. It was the only place we could get last minute. Yuck. But the...

I'm not one of those people who thinks I should somehow get 5-star amenities when I'm paying a 2-star price. I'm a big proponent of supporting small businesses when I can. But the Travel Motel in Raton turned out to be just a bit too "budget" for me. We were passing through Raton on a road trip and had made...

We were on an adventure & pulling into Raton late. This hotel is very dated, but very clean! The room was huge! With 2 queen beds, there was plenty of room to move around. Fridge & microwave. Bathroom & tub were very clean. I always do the sock test on the carpet ~ it wasn't just shampooed clean, but was...

Kind service. Right off the highway. The rates were unbeatable. They even gave us a card for 10% off at several restaurants around town. The room was clean. Felt like a Mom and Pop Motel...nothing fancy but there is goodness here. :)

After traveling for hours through West Texas, we were determined that we weren't getting a hotel until we got to New Mexico. We were not ddisappointed. In the tiny town of Raton, we found a small motel that looked like it would work, but was concerned that it would be expensive. We were expecting a $60 dollar room, and it...

Not fancy but clean and comfortable. Host very friendly and helpful. Supplied me with 10% off coupon card for 5 different eateries. Eager to accommodate. Bed very comfy. Recommend and will stay again.

My family and I stayed at the Travel Motel for just one night after we had been staying at Motel 6 for three nights. Immediately we adored our room for it's space and amenities. Our stay was comfortable and affordable. While Motel 6 gave us good service, our room at the Travel Motel is much larger and cleaner. We have...
