Having completed 4 separate ones, I feel I can finally add some value to the African Safari discussion. While wildlife and guides remain a staple feature, facilities, service and property set &Beyond's Ngala Lodge apart. From the private runway pickup, where you get greeted by your assigned guide, to the dining area, where you receive a warm "welcome home!" you...

I LOVED this property. Although the main lodge reception isn't the largest, it is the dining/restaurant building that is HUGE and really ties this property together. After a recent renovation, the rooms/huts are spacious and perfect for a couple. The whole lodge has more of a social feel with a large pool, rather than private plunge pools and breakfast and...

Ngala was most definitely the highlight of our South Africa trip. From the moment we landed and were greeted by the guides and our African Mama, the stay took on a magical feel. The room was fabulous, the food fabulous, the staff fabulous. But the safaris took my breath away! Our guide, Dyke, was so knowledgeable and educated us in...

This was our second visit to Ngala and in the time since our last visit the whole lodge has had a major refurbishment and wow it looked fantastic. We were greeted by all the staff like old friends. Mamma Connie was wonderfully welcoming. The food, as before, was spectacular with an amazing choice. The rooms had been upgraded to a...

Disappointed with the lack of animals as due to the drought many have moved away towards water and our guide said until they get rain and more water this will continue. The elephants came to the pool every day to drink and that was a treat to watch. Over 40 one day and you could be in the pool and...
