A good lodge in a unique part of Madikwe, with a fantastic watering hole visible from each of the rooms that attracts a wide variety of game. The lodge was quiet while we were there so we had great personal service and attention.

Lovely lodge, rustic and homely, but still top quality service and amenities. Field guides/Rangers were great, we had Ernie and he was brilliant. Saw lots of game close up, Madikwe is not crowded and we saw some amazing sites (eg very young Lion, Jackal and Hyeana cubs, and African Wild Dogs!). We found transfers to be expensive so we rented...

The entire experience was just a cut above other game lodges I have experienced. From our arrival by car, the difference was evident. The guard at the Madikwe entrance was friendly, helpful and welcoming and told us the road to follow in the reserve to get to Tau Game Lodge. Upon arriving at the entrance to the lodge, we were...

I had the pleasure of visiting Tau Game Lodge in November 2016 and was privileged to experience a super moon on our spectacular night safari. What an unforgettable experience of a lifetime. I want to go back. We booked through a travel agent so some of the particulars I am not able to answer.

This a terrible lodge. It is neither a 5-star nor luxury. It's is by far the worst game lodge I have visited in madikwe. The lodge is tired and dated and in a desperate need of a refurbishment. The food is terrible: no variety or choice of breakfast. All the other luxury 5-star lodges have complimentary gowns, slippers, coffee machines...

I have visited Tau twice, and both experiences have been excellent. The safaris are well done and lead by knowledgeable guides. The food is wonderful. The customer service really is above and beyond. The location of the bungalows on the watering hole makes Tau unique among game lodges. One can sit on the deck of her bungalow and sip tea...

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Tau Lodge for 3 days in November for my nephew's wedding. I cannot praise it high enough. Dylan, Mike and Murray our game rangers were superb, full of information and passion about the animals and environment and clearly loved their jobs. From waking us up at 5 am for a game drive to...

My boyfriend Dan and I stayed for 3 nights at Tau Game Lodge and had the most amazing time. We were truly overwhelmed by this beautiful place. All the staff were fantastic, so friendly and welcoming and they couldn't do enough for us, we kept saying we felt like royalty! All the rooms, the restaurant and bar areas overlooked a...

Our group ( family and friends) had an amazing trip to Tau lodge. The game viewing was excellent ( special thanks to our fantastic ranger Stuart). The accommodation was outstanding- loved the bed, outdoor shower, view of watering hole. The food was also very good. I had a wonderful spa treatment at the spa there. All the staff were wonderful....

We spent 4 amazing nights at Tau (not our first stay). The lodge is set in the beautiful park of Madikwe (In my opinion it is the best private park in SA). All rooms have a lovely balcony over looking the dam (waterhole) where the animals come and drink. We were fortunate to see plenty of elephants come for a...
