We stayed for 3 nights at Mosethla during our photo Safari. We had a pleasent stay. We saw all big five and a lot more. We had Jonny as Driver. He did a fantastic Job. Also Chris the Manager of the camp did everything to give us a wonderful experience. When we arrived we drove to the headquaters and were...

Dear jochens784 Thank you for your review. This is my favourite bit: If you want a luxury Resort with full Service go to another place. But if you love to be closer to nature this is the right place. Perfectly said! I would like to just clarify that we do have solar power at our staff houses where we take...

A perfect bush camp in the heart of the Madikwe Game Reserve! After a long journey, flying from Chicago to Johannesburg, we drove to Mosetlha--about a four hour drive from Johannesburg. We had been hoping for an exciting bush camp experience, but Mosetlha went far beyond our expectations. Our three-day stay could not have been better. Our cabin on stilts...

Dear Mary F Thanks so much for your review - I also love the ambiance created in the dining area where everyone sits down together after a long and exciting day and shares their experiences. Love it. (And we really love exceeding expectations!) We hope you will come back and see us again, Mary. Best eco regards Caroline Lucas

It's obvious from all the reviews on here that Mosetlha is a very special place and that's why we chose to spend 4 unforgettable nights here last October - we were not disappointed! (apologies to the staff for taking so long to write our review!) The game drives were excellent, Jonny was a brilliant guide and knew where to find...

Dear Liz W Thanks so much for this review (worth the wait :) ) You mention the magical experience of coming home to the camp all lit up with lanterns - this is something I never tire of (and it's been 21 years!). We look forward to your return visit to us. Thanks and best eco regards Caroline Lucas

Our third visit in 5 years and the impeccable standard hasn't changed one bit. Staying in Mosetlha assures the visitor a 24-hour 'bush' experience, within one of the very best reserves in South Africa. Unlike many stratospherically priced 'luxury' camps within the reserve, Mosetlha comes with a unique informality - meals are communal around a large central table, encouraging relaxed...

Dear vestysoffagain Thank you so much for your lovely, beautifully written (and very kind) review! Sharing it to FB because it touches on every aspect of the Mosetlha Experience - thank you. We look forward to seeing you back soon - this year?? Best eco regards Caroline Lucas

Fabulous introduction to the African bush, with our excellent guide Kgomotso, and the very hard-working camp staff. Incredible variety of animals during our 3-day stay, and we were able to see some less-visited areas of the reserve. We are used to camping out, so the cabins seemed relatively luxurious, and the non-smelly pit toilet and v effective bucket shower were...

Dear Ninko 999 Thanks so much for your review - and for mentioning not only Kgomotso but all the camp staff :) Not only the Mosetlha staff, but all the people working in the Reserve are from the five local villages surrounding Madikwe. The reserve employs 1500 people full time and more with contract work (from fixing roads, to doing...

Mosetlha is a bush camp, which gives a clue to the kind of place it is. It is not a luxury lodge, and has no swimming pool, no butlers waiting on you and no bottle of champagne on the bedside table. If those are your priorities, rather than experiencing the sights and sounds of the African bush, go elsewhere. The...

Dear Roger W Thanks so much for this review. Thanks also for especially mentioning how the drives are conducted - Madikwe game viewing really is something special due to the relationships amongst the guides (from all the lodges) and their radio and game drive etiquette. We look forward to your next stay with us (perhaps this time with grandchildren??). Best...

I've just spent 2 weeks at Mosetlha and loved every moment of it. I was made to feel special and important and cared for. The game drives were brilliant and Jonny, our guide, a genius at spotting all we wanted to see. From the fun of the showers to the beautiful lamplight at night I couldn't fault a thing. The...
