The two nights we spent at the Mable Dodge just left me hungry for more time there. It is a quiet place where the literary and artistic history of Taos comes alive. Each room is named for Mable or one of her famous friends. I choose the Spud Johnson room because it was on the first floor, had good shade...

We stayed in the glass sunroom on the third floor. I had been at the location prior to choosing this room and it is not for everyone. The stairway is more a ladder so large or heavy suitcases would be impossible. The room has an amazing view and some privacy in the barhroom. The views are marvelous. Waking up in...

The Willa Cather room was a lovely stay. The main house is a wonderful resource, such authentic New Mexico decor. History is everywhere, from the 1922 carved into the front door to the tiny arch-shaped hand-carved doors between each room. Need to stay a week next time. Breakfast was amazing, just amazing. Retreat-style meant modest pricing, twin beds, no hardship...

This is an Inn and Conference centre in the beautiful town of Taos. A beautiful old Adobe building with a very interesting history. Very peaceful location, lovely outside seating areas. Short 10 minute walk into town. We had lovely ground floor room with traditional furniture. Amazing family style breakfast - all delicious home cooked food and great to get the...

High reviews for the Mabel Dodge Luhan Conference Center - for its location (Taos, New Mexico, at foot of mountains), it's historic character (the original adobe home and some furnishing of Mabel, her husband, and artists visiting NM for first time), and an outstanding kitchen staff. A true paradise for a writers' retreat. No in-room wifi, but is available in...

This B&B/retreat site is not for those seeking Holiday Inn or better appointments in accommodations. Rather it continues to be a place where one can live comfortably and profitably in the past as it looks to the present and future. The comfortable rooms in the original structure are named for the artist-visitors who stayed there. Breakfasts are wonderful. Cookies, tea,...

Beautiful, historic, storied hotel close to the plaza in Taos! Everything about it is cozy, lovely and magical. And the food is fantastic! I stayed for a week during a painting retreat in the Ansel Adams room, and got to check out many other rooms, including the Solarium at the top (with amazing, panoramic views of the landscape), Mabel's room...

We had a lovely day visit to the Mabel Dodge Luhan House. We had recently learned of her through a PBS Documentary on her life. We were greeted with a hearty welcome just as Mabel would have likely done. We were invited to roam the house and grounds and were offered coffee, tea, and homemade treats and chose the amazing...

If you are looking for a one of a kind experience you won't soon forget, this is it! The history of the property is unique and of great significance to the art and literary world. It is a beautiful sanctuary and a place to unwind. The staff is welcoming and knowledgeable. Breakfast in the morning is delicious and prepared thoughtfully....

Mabel Dodge Luhan was an important and pioneering figure in the art world, not just in Taos, but in New York City, Provincetown, MA, and abroad. She was instrumental in bringing modernist painters to Taos in 1917-19 when the original Taos School painters' popularity had begun to fade somewhat. My fiancee is in the international art business. With her interest...
