My girlfriend and I stayed at the Bantom Roost. It was like a home away from home. Richard treats you like family. This is truly a fantastic experience. Rarely have I seen a place to stay that becomes so much a part of the vacation experience. A wonderful and unique place. I highly recommend it.

My two adult daughters and I stayed in the biggest casita, El Gallo Grande. It was cosy and intimate, yet allowed each of us privacy too. Richard has created a true haven of peace and beauty for his guests. He was kindness itself and made us feel truly welcome. We were grubby from days in a campervan and much appreciated... More

As world travellers, we've never been so surprised. The Bantam Roost is a gem of a casita. It is well appointed and the grounds are spectacular. We got engaged to be married just this morning, and Casa Gallina made it much more special. We'll be back.

Having traveled around the world, I can truly say that this was one of the most special places I have ever stayed. My mom, brother and I traveled to Taos to celebrate my mom's 60th birthday, and everything about our stay at Casa Gallina was perfect for the occasion. We stayed in El Gallo Grande which was so spacious yet... More

Loved staying at Casa Gallina! Beautiful B&B room and beautiful property! My husband and I stayed for our wedding night and even had some wedding photography taken at Casa Gallina (we're waiting to get the photos back and can't wait!!). Lived in Taos and saw this piece of property and knew it would be completely perfect to get some great... More

I visited Taos on October 10 - 14. I traveled by myself so renting a casita was a great choice and I picked a gem by staying at Casa Gallina. I stayed at the Leghorn casita and it was so charming. It was close to the plaza and many attractions . Richard is a great host. He was there to... More

My partner and I stayed in the Bantam Roost. From the moment we entered it felt like home. Richard had left a beautiful spread with goat cheese, pepitas, and sundries along with a bottle of wine for us to enjoy upon arrival. The Roost is full of character and our dog, Buddy was welcomed with treats, water, and love from... More

How can you describe an experience at Casa Gallina? As our host would tell you, it is a place to slow down and relax. He even wrote an excellent narrative on the subject in each casita. Our many trips here is always a HOMECOMING in a way. We have experience staying in three of his casitas and all three have... More

My husband and I wanted to get away from Denver city life for a while, so we booked three nights at Casa Gallina. When we arrived, Richard, our host, had provided some extra "essentials" in our fully stocked kitchen -- Land O Lakes butter spread, half and half, and enormous assortment of teas, and some very good quality ground coffee.... Despite the fact that I didn't believe that my recent trip to Casa Gallina could in any way surpass my visit there of four years ago, was I ever wrong! I don't know how he does it … what kind of particular magic he weaves (other than that of his kind, gracious manner and beautiful smile) … but Richard Spera's... More
