Charming, old Inn in the center of downtown Taos. Friendly welcoming staff. Rooms very simple. Bathroom had no hairdryer, a little outside soil on the floor. The bed mattress was on the softer side and only one bedroom pillow with one extra in the closet. Wifi supernatural. Awesome breakfast of granola, peaches, and yogurt. It was followed by Green chilli...

I've stayed at Casa Benavides three times in the last 13 months and will continue to stay there. The owner is a native of Taos and has a wonderful group of local women and men assisting. This trip his son, Tom McCarthy, and daughter-in-law, Shawn McCarthy were in town from Kansas to help with a very busy weekend featuring San...

The room was huge, well decorated and our only suggestion was that more lamps would have been nice. There was a quiet lovely courtyard to relax in and great for enjoying the free afternoon treats. The baked goods were excellent! The breakfast room was beautiful and the several course breakfast, delicious. There were several hot items to choose from: eggs,...

Our room, the St. Thomas, was huge and beautifully decorated. The lighting was very subdued. Even with every lamp turned on, it was difficult to read a book. The only window was facing the busy sidewalk/street, so it was impossible to keep it open without feeling that my bedroom was a store front. The hallway was very stuffy and hot,...

The Apache room had very hard beds, old pillows, and old, worn out bedding. The windows had no latches; anyone could have gotten in easily. The Jemez room had a good bed and better bedding. Strangely, it was cheaper than the Apache room. Both rooms were very dark. Additional lamps were needed. Breakfast was very good.

I wanted to like this B&B, but my friend and I ended up leaving Taos a day early, in large part because we just weren't comfortable here. I'll start with the positives. The location of this B&B cannot be bettered; it's a brief walk from the plaza, and only slightly longer to the art museum, a supermarket, and several restaurants...

The Casa Benavides Inn is literally just off the Plaza in Taos NM. And that means it is conveniently close to everything without being on the main drag through town. It was possible to choose the room you wanted on the internet which was great for us. We got a good room at a very reasonable rate. The staff was...

Room was large and clean. Breakfast included in room rate was gourmet level. Also included is afternoon tea with large selection of homemade pastries and cakes. Staff was outgoing and helpful. Within 5-10 minute walk of all shopping and restaurants, parking is included, we never moved car while we we in Taos. Not all rooms have a window if that...

A cross between a quaint bed & breakfast and a large inn, Casa Benavides is a gem in the heart of Taos. The location is ideal, nearly on the corner of Paseo del Pueblo and Kit Carson Road, where you can walk over to the Plaza, numerous restaurants and shops, and many galleries. The rooms are varied and quite different,...
