La Paloma is our go to place in Truth or Consequences... there are a few reasons for this. We like the accommodations in the courtyard close to the baths. They are cabin like comfy rooms that we find fit nicely with our needs, great pricing and always clean. The separate baths are another detail we like. The main bath house has a seating area so when you finish soaking you can take time before heading back to your room. The main bath house also has resting beds in the private soaking area, which I really like, so when the heat is enough you can rest on the beds and go back and forth. There are two bath houses so when both are open there are so many choices off which room one prefers. Now the water, we find it incredibly soothing and always notice a difference on our skin and hair after a few soaks. It always makes us feel rejuvenated. Cindy is always upbeat and wanting to make our stay enjoyable... well, we always come back so that says it all!

Caring, wonderful staff, and a peaceful, calm environment for our yoga retreat - with the only freely flowing, artesian, natural hot springs in the area. Rooms and suites and cottage are all impeccably clean and well-appointed, and the studio is the perfect place for a yoga retreat, or really any gathering you want to be relaxing, supportive, and bonding. Soaking comes with your room reservation, so go, stay and take the waters.

We first dropped by La Paloma back in July 2017 and not much has changed since then, which is great. You can either pay for a 30-60 min. soak or book a room and have unlimited access to the hot springs baths during your stay. The temperatures range from upper 90s to about 110 degrees.

There are three small, private pools that can be shared by a couple, and there are two private tubs as well. There are also foot baths, which I’ve never used. Calm, soothing music is piped into the bathhouse and talking above a whisper is discouraged in the space. Truly an awesome experience especially when it’s super cold outside. I would alternate between soaking for 10-15 minutes and reading a book.

The rooms are cozy. In the two rooms we’ve booked, Vision and Awakening, there’s been a kitchen, which is good if you like to cook. The rooms with the shower do feel cramped, so we would probably book the room without. There are also showers by the bathhouse infused with scent, which is interesting. The rooms also have cable TV and WiFi. There’s chairs, hammocks, a picnic table and a BBQ pit in the courtyard.

In addition to 24/7 access to the hot springs baths on site, you also get access to the baths at La Paloma Too next door during their business hours. I’d recommend trying the hot springs out first to see if it’s something you’re into prior to booking a room here. The unlimited access to the baths makes staying here more than worth it.

The location is in the hot springs historical district and close to Truth or Consequences Brewing, a breakfast place and Rotary Park.

There are a few critical reviews below, but let me say, if you are going to drive out of your way to get to a middle of nowhere location, call first. We knew good and well that Paloma was struggling with employees and such during covid, as well as a state wide lock down. I for one am extremely happy they opened back up at all!! - - I will give a five star review becuase I absolutely love it here. We even chose this special place for our honeymoon.

Paloma has nice little cabin type rooms, many have full kitchenettes. In a town where there isn't much available to go out and eat, this is one of our favorite parts. We hit up trader joes in Albuquerque on our way down, grab some easy to fix meal stuff and cook 90% of our own food, making the trip even more affordable.

We will definitely be back many times, see you soon!

The phone has been disconnected and sign on gate says temp not taking guests at this time. It looks rather deserted. It would be good if they could update their website and FB pages would be easier for guests to know not to bother with going here

This is the fourth visit for my daughter and I. We've been coming for years. After a number of reschedules, we arrived in a very warm October. We weren't certain how soaking in hot waters would feel with the outside temps in the low nineties. However, once immersed, the experience of the soothing water takes over and when emerging, the air feels comfortably cool. We enjoyed a larger room this time which was lovely. One of the things that strikes me every time I visit is the love and pride that is evident here. There are treasures of art nestled everywhere, some obvious, some happy surprises. The staff is cheery and helpful , brimming with good information about this special place. A new thing I learned is its venerable history; one bathhouse was created in 1924 (Happy Centenary!) and the other 1919! The experience of soaking in the naturally arising waters is superior to that of tubs being filled and drained. I look forward to returning

If you are visiting La Paloma for the first time, please understand that this is not your typical "resort". Here, you will find unique and vintage furnishings and one-of-a-kind rooms. You are not choosing La Paloma for the luxury, you are choosing La Paloma for the healing waters and peaceful zen vibe. You are not choosing La Paloma because you want every part of your stay to be perfect, you are choosing La Paloma because you are more comfortable with perfectly imperfect. I've visited La Paloma a few times now. I highly recommend to family and friends and would love to keep this place all to myself.

About the waters...you won't find better healing waters anywhere. Sometimes you have to settle for 99degrees of healing, sometimes you'll be blessed to soak in 103 or 105 or 106! If you want a guaranteed soaking temperature, head to your nearest bathroom and turn on the faucet. These are NATURAL waters and naturally fluctuate in temperature. I've soaked in warm and hot and the healing properties exist in both.

Every room I've stayed in has been clean and functional. Bathrobes are included for your use! Sitting in the quiet courtyard at night after a soak looking up at the stars is one of my very favorite things about La Paloma.

I stayed for two nights while checking out a job offer in the town, and it was one of the most peaceful and relaxing 'vacations' I've had in years. The springs were refreshing, the room was very nice, and the employees were very welcoming. The only issues were the wifi (I suspect the incredibly slow rate was due to the nearby wildfires) and the amenities were too small for someone my size (I could barely squeeze into the toilet room). Otherwise it was a great stay!

Our room was great, but the bathhouse in the courtyard (which is adorable) was closed. Most of the rooms are not rented, and you have to call to get an appointment to soak in the small bathhouse. Management said it's because of some problem getting water and that they can't find anyone to work at the property. The locals we spoke to did not say that at all. The property is looking a bit run down too compared to previous trips.

This is a wonderful property with great potential, but it seems like management doesn't want to put 100% into it anymore. I understand Covid was hard on everyone, but it just seemed like they didn't want to be open.

Like the last review stated. I was trying to book a stay and got a response from a lady named Cindy stating that they are not taking guests, day soakers or spa guests. She gave me the name of Andre Soule a wonderful body worker who we had come to our air bnb
I was so disappointed to not be able to soak in these healing waters that once had many guests coming around to find healing and peace
It’s a historical marker and Geronimo would bathe here amongst many others that felt the power of these waters and land. I so wish someone would come and purchase this place and breathe new life into it. Unfortunately the abuse is continuing and I truly hope it stops sooner than later
